Sample interview questions
How would you tailor an Ajax product presentation for an installer versus a distributor?

For installers, I would focus on installation workflow, device compatibility, configuration, troubleshooting, and end-user value. For distributors, I would add product positioning, portfolio roadmaps, partner enablement, demand drivers, and how the solutions compare with competing offerings.

Describe how you would uncover a customer's technical requirements before proposing a security solution.

I would ask structured questions about the site type, risks, existing infrastructure, coverage needs, network constraints, integrations, compliance needs, budget, and implementation timeline. I would then validate the requirements with the sales team and map them to an appropriate solution architecture.

What steps would you take when a partner raises a technical objection during a live demonstration?

I would clarify the exact concern, acknowledge its business or operational impact, and respond with evidence from product specifications, testing, or a relevant use case. If the answer requires validation, I would state that clearly, record the question, and provide a documented follow-up promptly.

How do you keep technical training engaging for audiences with different levels of experience?

I begin by assessing the audience's roles and baseline knowledge, then combine short theory segments with live demonstrations, practical scenarios, and time for questions. I provide clear reference materials and adapt examples to the audience's local customer and installation context.

How would you use competitor research to support the sales team without making unsupported claims?

I would compare publicly verifiable specifications, integrations, installation requirements, warranty terms, and use cases. I would translate the findings into accurate battlecards that highlight Ajax strengths, acknowledge valid differences, and help the sales team discuss customer value professionally.
