Sample interview questions
I would first identify the audience’s technical level and their typical installation scenarios. I would structure the session around real use cases, product architecture, installation steps, configuration, troubleshooting, and a hands-on demonstration. I would close with a question-and-answer session and share concise technical materials for post-training reference.
I would begin by clarifying the site type, threat model, existing infrastructure, integration needs, budget, and operational constraints. I would then map these requirements to the relevant alarm, video, access-control, and automation capabilities, explaining trade-offs clearly. Finally, I would validate the design with the customer and sales team and document the proposed configuration.
I would compare them based on image quality, scalability, network requirements, storage, remote access, cybersecurity, installation constraints, and total cost of ownership. IP systems generally offer stronger scalability and analytics capabilities, while analogue may remain appropriate where existing cabling or budget constraints are decisive. The recommendation should always follow the customer’s operational and technical needs.
I would identify whether the obstacle is a knowledge gap, configuration issue, integration limitation, or unclear business value. I would provide targeted training, practical examples, and step-by-step documentation, then confirm adoption through a pilot or follow-up session. I would also relay recurring feedback to the product and sales teams so that the issue can be addressed systematically.
I use clear planning, documented customer requirements, and regular updates to keep stakeholders aligned. Before customer meetings, I agree on objectives with sales; afterward, I record technical findings, next steps, and ownership. This approach allows me to work autonomously while ensuring that customer commitments and product feedback are visible to the wider team.
