Sample interview questions
I would map the buying committee, current development and security workflows, strategic initiatives, and measurable business problems. I would create a mutual action plan that connects GitLab capabilities to outcomes such as developer productivity, security-risk reduction, and toolchain consolidation, while defining executive sponsors, technical validation steps, commercial milestones, and adoption measures.
I qualify early against business pain, stakeholder access, technical fit, procurement path, timeline, and mutual value. I maintain a documented close plan, schedule regular customer and internal deal reviews, identify risks early, and keep forecast stages evidence-based rather than relying on optimism.
I would align the team around the customer's desired outcomes and establish clear ownership for discovery, technical validation, rollout planning, and success metrics. I would ensure that commitments made during the sales cycle are realistic and that post-sale teams receive complete context on stakeholders, use cases, risks, and expansion opportunities.
I would identify partners with trusted access to the target account and align on a joint account hypothesis, value proposition, and engagement plan. I would establish shared qualification criteria, regular pipeline reviews, clear rules of engagement, and a feedback loop so both organizations can improve opportunity quality.
For executives, I focus on business outcomes, risk, cost, speed, and strategic transformation. For technical stakeholders, I discuss workflows, integration requirements, security controls, and adoption realities, then connect both conversations through a shared success plan and measurable evaluation criteria.
