Sample interview questions
I would outline the client brief, market map, target-profile calibration, confidential outreach, assessment process, offer management, and placement outcome. I would emphasize how I kept stakeholders aligned and adjusted the strategy using market feedback.
I review the candidate's portable book, client relationships, conflicts, practice demand, originating versus servicing credit, and the receiving firm's platform. I also ensure all discussions are handled discreetly and that expectations are validated with both the candidate and client.
I would begin with a confidential discovery conversation focused on motivations, leadership scope, risk tolerance, compensation priorities, and timing. I would communicate transparently, protect sensitive information, and provide candid market guidance throughout the process.
I would evaluate the messaging, compensation, location constraints, and target-market assumptions with the client. Then I would broaden adjacent talent pools where appropriate, refine the value proposition, activate trusted referrals, and provide a data-backed reset of the search strategy.
I prioritize searches by urgency, business impact, and pipeline stage, using clear milestones and CRM discipline. I proactively communicate progress, risks, and next steps so clients receive consistent service without needing to chase updates.
