Core skills

Skills and capabilities most closely associated with this opportunity.

Sample interview questions
Describe a time you led a product initiative where the problem and solution were initially unclear.

I began by aligning stakeholders on the customer problem, known constraints, and success measures rather than prematurely committing to a solution. I combined research, behavioral data, and technical input to frame opportunities, tested multiple concepts, and documented the rationale behind the chosen direction. This created alignment while preserving room to adapt as new evidence emerged.

How do you use product analytics and qualitative research together to make design decisions?

I use analytics to identify patterns, scale, and points of friction, then use interviews, usability studies, and support signals to understand the reasons behind those patterns. I define a measurable hypothesis before designing, monitor leading and outcome metrics after release, and use qualitative feedback to explain unexpected results. This helps ensure decisions are grounded in both behavior and customer context.

How do you ensure a complex design is implementation-ready for engineering?

I provide clear flows, states, content, interaction details, responsive behavior, and edge cases, linked to the relevant user needs and acceptance criteria. I involve engineering early to validate feasibility and clarify trade-offs, then maintain a single source of truth in design and project-tracking tools. I also stay engaged through implementation and QA to protect experience quality.

Give an example of how you influenced a product decision without direct authority.

I make the decision process transparent by presenting evidence, trade-offs, and a clear recommendation tied to customer and business outcomes. I invite dissent early, address concerns directly, and use prototypes or experiments to make abstract risks concrete. This approach builds trust and helps teams align around the strongest available evidence rather than hierarchy.

How have you applied AI tools or agentic workflows to improve design work?

I use AI to reduce repetitive work in research synthesis, draft structured artifacts, explore alternatives, and accelerate handoffs while retaining human review for quality and customer sensitivity. I measure whether the workflow improves speed, consistency, or decision quality before scaling it. When successful, I document reusable prompts, guardrails, and practices so other designers can adopt the workflow safely.

The Opportunity – Senior Product Designer II (Remote – USA / CANADA)

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer II to own design for a core product area at Wrapbook. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who frames the problem and drives work from definition through delivery without waiting for the “what.” You’ll take on broad, cross cutting work where requirements evolve and no clear solution exists upfront, then create the structure and clarity that carries a cohesive end to end experience across systems and surfaces. Your work will set the bar the team calibrates against, and others will be able to point to decisions you made that changed the direction of a project.

What you’ll do:

  • Own a product area end to end with minimal direction, framing loosely defined problems and delivering grounded, defensible work across systems and user surfaces even when the right approach is not defined at the start.

  • Ground every decision in evidence and measure its impact, using Pendo, Dovetail, and research to shape direction, defining success upfront, and connecting outcomes to customer benefit and business OKRs through signals like speed, efficiency, error reduction, and delight.

  • Own prioritization for your area without being told what matters most, synthesizing competing signals from Pendo, research, and PM inputs into a clear point of view that drives alignment on design deliverables.

  • Set the standard for implementation ready deliverables, creating and evolving the templates that make specs, flows, content, edge cases, and detailed logic easy to trace back to personas and JTBD.

  • Explore multiple solutions and challenge established patterns to create best in class experiences, holding the quality bar under pressure, staying accountable to the last detail, and improving experiences in your domain even outside the current roadmap.

  • Operate at a high AI bar, moving beyond daily use to measurable impact by introducing AI skills, agentic flows, and reusable workflows that cut repetitive work, accelerate research and validation, and create cleaner handoffs for product and engineering.

  • Shape how teams collaborate across complex initiatives, establishing the right forums and decision structure, using senior judgment and clear rationale to influence decisions and challenge requirements early before direction hardens.

  • Mentor designers at all levels through actionable feedback, and keep status, decisions, and risks current in tools like Linear so stakeholders and design leadership always have an accurate picture.

What you’ll have:

  • 8+ years in UX or product design, an expert across multiple core disciplines whose craft opinion others seek out on hard questions.

  • A track record of leading broad, cross cutting work from definition through delivery with significant autonomy, including projects where no clear solution existed upfront.

  • Ownership of a product area’s metric-driven understanding, using Pendo, Dovetail, and research to shape decisions, define success in measurable terms, and prove whether the design delivered customer and business value.

  • Strong prioritization judgment, with the ability to synthesize competing inputs into a defensible point of view and drive alignment without repeated escalation.

  • A high documentation and craft bar, with deep design system fluency and the accountability to hold quality under pressure down to the last detail.

  • AI fluency and a growth mindset toward agentic workflows, with comfort using tools like Claude, Claude Code, Figma, and Cursor and a demonstrated ability to build reusable workflows and skills others adopt.

  • Exceptional collaboration, influence, and communication skills, with a proven ability to align Product, Engineering, and Research and to shape direction before it hardens.

  • Customer obsession, grounded in evidence rather than assumption.
