Sample interview questions
How have you built and closed a complex SLED SaaS opportunity?

I begin by mapping the agency's business problem, procurement path, budget owner, technical evaluators, and executive sponsor. I build a mutual action plan, quantify the expected operational and risk-reduction outcomes, align internal specialists and partners, and maintain executive engagement through contracting and implementation.

What approach do you use to develop a reliable public-sector sales pipeline?

I combine account segmentation, territory plans, partner referrals, targeted outbound outreach, industry events, and expansion within existing relationships. I qualify opportunities against compelling need, funding, procurement feasibility, stakeholder access, and a realistic close plan before including them in the forecast.

How would you position identity and fraud technology to a state or local government buyer?

I would connect the solution to measurable agency outcomes such as reducing fraud losses, increasing confidence in digital access, improving constituent experience, and lowering manual-review workload. I would tailor the message to the agency's regulatory environment, data constraints, implementation requirements, and procurement criteria.

Describe how you improve forecast accuracy in a long and complex sales cycle.

I use defined opportunity stages supported by evidence, including stakeholder alignment, validated use case, budget confirmation, procurement milestones, technical validation, and mutual close dates. I review deal risks regularly, distinguish upside from commit opportunities, and update forecasts based on buyer actions rather than seller optimism.

How do you work with channel partners while retaining accountability for revenue?

I establish shared account plans, rules of engagement, value propositions, and measurable next steps from the start. I enable partners with relevant messaging and resources, maintain direct relationships with key customer stakeholders, and hold regular deal reviews to ensure accountability, momentum, and accurate attribution.
