Sample interview questions
How would you set a product strategy for an autonomous sidewalk-delivery business expanding into new markets?

I would start with customer, merchant, operator, and public-safety needs alongside unit economics and regulatory constraints. I would translate those inputs into a small set of strategic bets, define measurable outcomes, sequence platform and market-specific work, and revisit priorities through regular operating reviews.

Describe how you balance near-term operational needs with longer-term platform investment.

I create an explicit portfolio that separates reliability and customer commitments from scalable platform investments. Each initiative needs a clear expected outcome, owner, dependency map, and leading indicators, allowing leadership to make tradeoffs transparently rather than treating all work as equally urgent.

How have you led both product management and design organizations effectively?

I establish shared product principles, clear decision rights, and a common planning cadence while preserving the distinct craft standards of each discipline. I ensure design participates early in discovery and strategy, not only during delivery, and hold leaders accountable for customer outcomes and quality.

What metrics would you use to evaluate a robotic-delivery product?

I would use a balanced scorecard covering safety incidents, delivery completion and reliability, customer satisfaction, merchant retention, delivery time, operational intervention rate, fleet utilization, unit economics, and the adoption of new product capabilities. Metrics should be segmented by market and customer workflow so teams can identify root causes.

How would you communicate a difficult product tradeoff to executive and external stakeholders?

I would clearly state the decision, the alternatives considered, supporting evidence, customer and business impact, risks, and mitigation plan. I would tailor the detail to the audience while maintaining a consistent narrative about how the tradeoff supports the company strategy and safety commitments.
