Sample interview questions
I would begin by confirming the customer's business outcomes, critical applications, identity architecture, security requirements, and key stakeholders. I would review the current configuration, integrations, authentication flows, operational risks, and adoption metrics, then document prioritized recommendations with owners and target dates.
For engineers, I would describe the affected protocol flow, evidence, probable failure point, and specific troubleshooting actions. For the executive sponsor, I would focus on business impact, risk, recovery plan, accountable owners, and timing, avoiding unnecessary protocol-level detail while maintaining transparency.
I would clarify the underlying outcome and assess whether a configuration, integration, or existing feature can address it. If a gap remains, I would capture reproducible requirements and business impact, communicate realistic expectations, and advocate internally through the appropriate product feedback process without promising an uncommitted roadmap item.
I prioritize by customer impact, security risk, production urgency, contractual commitments, and dependencies. I communicate priorities and response expectations clearly, establish owners and checkpoints for urgent work, and protect recurring time for health reviews and strategic follow-up so proactive commitments do not disappear.
I would use approved tools to draft reports, summarize account trends, organize action items, and improve the consistency of technical recommendations. I would validate outputs against source data, protect customer confidentiality, and ensure that customer-facing guidance is reviewed for technical accuracy before sharing.
