Sample interview questions
I segment accounts by renewal date, contract value, usage and health indicators, churn risk, and growth potential. I begin outreach early for high-value or at-risk accounts, maintain a renewal calendar, and use CRM tasks and reporting to ensure every account has a clear next step.
I would first understand the underlying issue through targeted questions about outcomes, usage, service experience, budget, and stakeholders. I would partner with Customer Success to validate account health, present relevant value and remediation options, and escalate appropriately while documenting the risk and agreed actions in the CRM.
I would track gross and net retention, churn rate, renewal rate, renewal cycle time, forecast accuracy, early-renewal rate, and expansion contribution. I would review these by segment and risk category to identify process gaps and recurring churn drivers.
I follow established approval and deal-desk workflows, confirm pricing and scope against the customer record, and coordinate early with Legal and Finance when exceptions arise. Before closing, I verify documentation, signatures, contract dates, and CRM opportunity data so the handoff is complete and audit-ready.
I would review usage, customer goals, service outcomes, and changes in the customer’s business before the conversation. If I identify unmet needs or increased demand, I would connect the opportunity to measurable value, involve the appropriate sales or customer-success partner, and position the expansion as part of the customer’s success plan.
