Sample interview questions
I would begin with discovery of business objectives, recovery requirements, existing infrastructure, applications, data volumes, and operational constraints. I would then assess gaps, propose an architecture and implementation plan, align scope and milestones through a statement of work, and maintain clear status communication through delivery and handover.
I use documented project plans, risk and dependency tracking, regular stakeholder updates, and clear ownership for each deliverable. I prioritize work based on customer impact, technical risk, contractual milestones, and resource availability, escalating early when a schedule or scope conflict needs a decision.
I consider recovery time and recovery point objectives, workload criticality, data growth, retention, backup windows, network throughput, storage performance, security controls, immutability, off-site copies, and testing requirements. I also validate compatibility across the hypervisor, storage platform, operating systems, and business applications.
I would first confirm the impact and stabilize critical operations where possible. Next, I would collect logs and configuration details, isolate likely causes, communicate a transparent action plan, engage Veeam support when needed, and document the resolution along with preventive recommendations.
I adapt the level of detail to the audience while keeping communication clear and outcome-focused. With technical teams, I provide evidence-based architecture and implementation guidance; with business stakeholders, I connect technical decisions to resilience, risk reduction, timelines, and operational value.
