The role, at a glance.
Apaleo is hiring a Technical Partnerships Manager to guide hospitality technology partners from integration onboarding through go-live and ongoing optimization. The role combines API enablement, partner support, integration certification, monitoring, documentation, and coordination with product and commercial teams. The successful candidate needs hospitality or travel-tech domain knowledge, confidence in technical discussions, and the ability to translate between developers and business stakeholders. This is a non-commercial, partner-facing technical role with substantial ownership across an integration ecosystem. Remote work is available as an option alongside office or hybrid work in Munich or Berlin.

Sample interview questions
I would start by clarifying the partner’s use case, target customers, data flows, and technical capabilities. Then I would set clear integration milestones, provide relevant API documentation and examples, review early implementation choices, test against certification requirements, and maintain a structured issue log through launch. After go-live, I would monitor performance and collect feedback to identify improvements.
I would avoid jargon and describe the business impact first, such as a reservation or rate update not reaching the intended system. I would explain what is happening, what information we need to investigate it, the expected resolution path, and any temporary workaround. I would keep the partner updated in plain language until the issue is resolved.
I would review request and response logs, error codes, timestamps, authentication status, rate limits, payload validity, and recent API or partner-side changes. I would use monitoring tools such as Datadog to identify patterns by endpoint, tenant, or time period. Based on the evidence, I would reproduce the issue where possible and coordinate with the appropriate engineering team or partner contact.
A PMS typically acts as the operational system of record for property, guest, reservation, and inventory data. Channel managers distribute availability and rates to external channels, booking engines support direct reservations, and payment platforms process and reconcile transactions. Reliable integrations must maintain accurate data flow, handle timing and status changes, and prevent inconsistencies across these systems.
I would first understand the underlying business objective and assess the request against API capabilities, security, scalability, and certification standards. If the requested approach is not suitable, I would explain the constraint clearly and propose a practical alternative that meets as much of the need as possible. I would also document recurring gaps and share them with product teams as evidence for future prioritization.
About this role.
About Apaleo
Apaleo is the world’s most open, API-first property management platform powering the next generation of hospitality operations. Its modular, AI-powered infrastructure enables hoteliers to customise their tech stack, automate routine work, and deliver seamless, personalised guest experiences, powered by best-in-class apps and autonomous AI agents that adapt to every stay.
Every great integration starts with a conversation. As a Technical Partnerships Manager, you are the person partners talk to when they want to build on Apaleo. You will help partners, from early-stage startups to large corporates, build integrations that work well for hotels. You will explain our APIs, review how partners have built their use case and show them what good looks like. You will work with CTOs, product managers and developers, switching context quickly and enjoying the technical detail. This is a technical, partner-facing role, not a commercial one.
What you’ll do
- Onboard new integration partners and guide them from first contact to go-live
- Explain how Apaleo works and how partners can best use our APIs for their use case
- Certify apps for the Apaleo Store, review how they are built and recommend improvements
- Help partners improve both the business and technical logic of their integrations
- Monitor partner API performance, using tools like Datadog, and spot issues before they become problems
- Resolve support tickets from partners, and escalations from customers about integrations
- Tell partners when our API changes and help them adapt
- Write and update our developer documentation, including guides that show what a good integration looks like
- Reach out to potential partners where demand exists, for example French partners as our sales team expands into France
- Share technical requirements and business opportunities from partner work with product, marketing, business development and customer success
What you’ll bring
Essential
- Experience in hospitality or travel tech, in any role from customer success to revenue management or reservations.
- Understanding of the hotel tech ecosystem: PMS, channel managers, booking engines, payments and distribution, and how data flows between them
- A clear grasp of what an API is, and the confidence to join technical conversations with developers. “I don’t know, let me find out” is the right attitude
- Technical curiosity. You don’t need to write code, but you enjoy digging into why something broke
- The ability to explain technical topics to non-technical people, and commercial topics to engineers
- Experience managing technology partners or similar external stakeholders
- A proactive mindset, and the ability to switch context quickly
Nice to have
- Basic knowledge of REST, OAuth and webhooks
- Experience with log management or monitoring tools such as Datadog
- Experience with a marketplace or app store programme
- Experience with certification or QA processes for integrations
- German or French
You don’t need to tick every box. If you have a strong hospitality or travel tech background and the curiosity to go deeper into technology, we want to hear from you.
