Sample interview questions
How would you build a candidate pipeline for validation engineers in the Australian biotech sector?

I would first align with the hiring manager on the required GMP, validation, and facility experience, then map target employers and adjacent industries. I would use LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, specialist job boards, and personalised outreach, while maintaining a segmented pipeline in the ATS for both immediate and future needs.

Describe how you manage multiple technical requisitions with competing priorities.

I use intake meetings to define business impact, urgency, candidate scarcity, and interview capacity for each role. I create a prioritised sourcing plan, provide weekly pipeline updates, and reset expectations early when market conditions or feedback indicate a need to adjust the search.

How do you assess whether a candidate is suitable for a commissioning or mission-critical infrastructure role?

I clarify the technical requirements with the hiring manager, including commissioning stages, MEP systems, data-center exposure, and project environment. During screening, I explore the candidate's direct project responsibilities, scale of facilities, coordination experience, and motivation for the role before presenting a concise evidence-based profile.

How would you ensure a strong candidate experience across APAC time zones?

I would set clear timelines, communicate each interview stage in advance, and offer scheduling options that reasonably accommodate local time zones. I would also ensure candidates receive timely feedback and have a single reliable point of contact throughout the process.

What recruiting metrics would you report to hiring leaders?

I would report pipeline health, source effectiveness, time in stage, time to fill, interview-to-offer conversion, offer acceptance, and candidate experience indicators. I would pair the metrics with market context and practical recommendations, such as adjusting compensation, interview speed, or sourcing channels.
