Sample interview questions
I would first validate tracking, attribution, lead-stage definitions, and CRM data quality. Then I would segment performance by channel, audience, creative, landing page, geography, and time period to identify the source of the increase. I would test targeted changes to audience quality, bidding, creative, offers, and conversion paths while monitoring both SQL volume and downstream pipeline.
I would map the current lifecycle stages, ownership rules, routing logic, SLAs, and failure points with both teams. I would implement clear qualification criteria, automated assignment workflows, alerts, exception handling, and dashboards for speed-to-lead and acceptance rates. I would also establish a recurring feedback loop so scoring and routing rules reflect actual sales outcomes.
I would begin with clean UTM conventions, consistent campaign naming, reliable CRM stage data, and agreed definitions of sourced and influenced pipeline. I would select an attribution approach appropriate to the buying cycle, such as first-touch, last-touch, and weighted multi-touch views, rather than relying on one model alone. The resulting dashboard would connect spend, engagement, SQLs, opportunities, and pipeline to support decisions.
I would allocate an initial test budget based on historical performance, audience intent, campaign maturity, and expected conversion lag. Search would typically capture existing demand, LinkedIn would create and target demand among priority accounts, and retargeting would improve conversion efficiency. I would reallocate incrementally based on qualified lead quality, opportunity creation, pipeline contribution, and marginal cost per SQL.
I use documented consent and subscription-management processes, appropriate legal bases, clear unsubscribe mechanisms, and auditable preference records. I ensure workflows honor suppression lists, regional requirements, and data-retention standards, while regularly testing forms and email logic. I also partner with legal or compliance stakeholders when entering new markets or changing data practices.
