Sample interview questions
I would first validate tracking, lead-source attribution, and lifecycle-stage definitions. Then I would analyze performance by channel, audience, creative, offer, firmographic segment, and lead-to-SQL conversion rate, rather than optimizing only for cost per lead. Based on the findings, I would refine targeting and qualification criteria, align follow-up with Sales, and test higher-intent messaging or conversion paths.
I would map the current funnel, document ownership and service-level expectations, and audit property definitions, workflows, assignment rules, and exceptions. I would standardize lifecycle criteria, build automated routing with fallback logic, and create alerts for unworked or misrouted leads. Finally, I would monitor routing speed, acceptance rates, and conversion by source to continuously improve the process.
I would include spend, impressions, clicks, conversion rates, cost per lead, cost per SQL, pipeline created, pipeline influenced, opportunity conversion, and return on ad spend where attribution supports it. I would segment these metrics by channel, campaign, audience, and time period. The dashboard would also surface data-quality or tracking gaps so decisions are made using reliable information.
I begin with pipeline goals, historical conversion rates, audience availability, and channel-specific cost benchmarks. I allocate an initial test budget across channels, establish target efficiency thresholds, and review both leading indicators and downstream pipeline quality. I then shift incremental spend toward programs that deliver qualified demand while reserving a defined portion for controlled experiments.
I would maintain clear consent and subscription records, use appropriate lawful-basis and preference-management processes, and ensure unsubscribe mechanisms are visible and honored promptly. I would also review segmentation, data retention, sender identity, and workflow logic before launches. Regular audits and documented operating procedures would help keep teams and integrations aligned with compliance requirements.
