Sample interview questions
I would begin with a site and risk assessment, identify the required protection zones, integrations, regulatory constraints, and operational priorities, then map those requirements to compatible devices and communication paths. I would document assumptions, calculate quantities and coverage, produce the BOM, and review the design with the customer and sales team before finalizing the proposal.
I first establish the impact, scope, and urgency, then gather logs, topology details, device status, and recent configuration changes. I isolate likely causes methodically, communicate clear updates to stakeholders, implement a low-risk corrective action, and document root cause and preventive measures after resolution.
Key factors include camera placement and coverage, lighting, bandwidth, storage retention, network resilience, power availability, cybersecurity, user permissions, and integration requirements. I also validate local regulations and ensure the design can be maintained and expanded efficiently.
I would tailor the training to their existing technical level and use a practical structure: product positioning, architecture, installation standards, configuration, troubleshooting, and live scenarios. I would include hands-on exercises, knowledge checks, reference documentation, and a follow-up channel for implementation questions.
I clarify the customer’s mandatory requirements early, provide the sales team with an accurate and commercially viable configuration, and flag any assumptions or dependencies transparently. This approach protects technical integrity while allowing sales to respond quickly with a clear, compliant proposal.
