Sample interview questions
How would you assess the legal feasibility of launching a tokenized equity product in a new jurisdiction?

I would first map the product mechanics, customer journey, token rights, custody model, trading venue, and involved entities. I would then assess securities classification, licensing, market-conduct, investor-protection, disclosure, custody, AML, data, and financial-promotion requirements, identify material gaps, and present practical launch options with clear risk ownership.

Describe how you balance product speed with regulatory risk in a fast-moving business.

I engage early in product design, distinguish non-negotiable legal requirements from manageable commercial risks, and provide concise options rather than a binary answer. I document assumptions, establish controls and approvals, and use phased launches or geographic restrictions where they allow the business to move responsibly.

What issues would you consider when reviewing a brokerage or tokenization agreement?

I would review licensing and regulatory allocation, scope of services, asset ownership and custody, execution and settlement responsibilities, representations, client disclosures, indemnities, liability caps, audit rights, data use, termination, dispute resolution, and applicable law. I would ensure the agreement accurately reflects the operational model and does not create unmanageable regulatory exposure.

How would you advise Marketing on an announcement for a tokenized securities product?

I would verify the target jurisdictions and audience, assess whether the communication is a financial promotion or solicitation, and ensure claims are fair, clear, balanced, and appropriately qualified. I would also confirm required risk warnings, eligibility restrictions, approval processes, and consistency with the product terms and regulatory permissions.

How do you manage legal work across teams and jurisdictions with competing priorities?

I set a clear intake process, identify regulatory deadlines and launch-critical decisions, and communicate priority, ownership, and expected turnaround times. For complex matters, I maintain a decision log and coordinate local counsel or specialist teams early so that stakeholders receive a consistent and actionable legal position.
