Sample interview questions
How would you handle a client who reports that a feature on their live website is not working?

I would first acknowledge the impact and gather the key details, including the URL, expected behavior, actual behavior, browser, device, and screenshots if available. I would attempt to reproduce the issue, check known workarounds and account settings, then provide a clear update to the client. If escalation is needed, I would document reproducible steps, evidence, priority, and business impact for the Product or technical team.

How do you explain a technical solution to a non-technical customer?

I avoid jargon and use short, sequential instructions focused on the customer’s goal. I explain what they need to do, why it resolves the issue when helpful, and what result they should expect. I also invite them to confirm the outcome and offer to clarify any step.

What is your experience with Salesforce or other help desk systems?

I use help desk systems to organize cases, review customer history, prioritize urgent requests, document troubleshooting, and maintain accurate follow-up commitments. I understand the importance of clear case notes, correct categorization, and timely status updates so that customers and internal teams have reliable context.

How would you prioritize several incoming chat and email requests at once?

I would assess urgency, customer impact, service-level commitments, and whether a live website is affected. I would address outages, blocking issues, and time-sensitive client cases first, while acknowledging lower-priority requests promptly with an expected response time. I would keep records current and escalate issues that exceed my access or expertise.

How do HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS knowledge help in a customer support role?

They help me distinguish between content, styling, browser, configuration, and functional issues. For example, I can inspect whether a formatting problem is likely CSS-related, whether embedded content is configured correctly in a CMS, and whether a feature may require technical escalation. This improves the quality of troubleshooting and the detail provided to engineering teams.
