Sample interview questions
How would you lead discovery for an enterprise customer seeking to improve workforce skills visibility and learning outcomes?

I would begin by aligning executive sponsors and functional stakeholders on strategic business objectives, workforce challenges, success measures, and decision criteria. I would then assess the current learning, HR, data, identity, and integration landscape, identify gaps and dependencies, and convert findings into a phased solution roadmap with measurable outcomes.

Describe how you would build a value-based business case for a Skills Intelligence solution.

I would connect the proposed investment to customer-specific outcomes such as reduced time to proficiency, improved internal mobility, improved compliance completion, or reduced critical skill gaps. I would validate baseline metrics, quantify expected impact with stakeholder input, document assumptions, and present a clear ROI narrative alongside implementation costs, risks, and milestones.

How do you balance customer requirements with technical feasibility and implementation constraints?

I clarify which requirements are essential to the desired business outcome and distinguish them from preferences or future-state aspirations. I engage technical, services, and product experts early to validate integrations, data availability, security requirements, effort, and risks, then recommend a scalable phased approach when immediate delivery is not feasible.

How would you communicate a complex solution architecture to both executives and technical stakeholders?

For executives, I focus on business priorities, expected value, risks, adoption, and the decision needed. For technical stakeholders, I provide sufficient detail on systems, APIs, identity, data flows, controls, dependencies, and implementation responsibilities, while maintaining a consistent narrative that links the architecture to measurable outcomes.

What would you do if a customer’s delivery plan begins to diverge from the solution outcomes agreed during the sales process?

I would quickly assess the source of the divergence, such as changes in scope, ownership, data readiness, resources, or assumptions. I would reconvene the appropriate customer and internal stakeholders, document the impact on outcomes and risks, and recommend corrective actions or a revised roadmap that preserves solution integrity and value realization.
