Sample interview questions
How would you approach gathering requirements for a new Salesforce workflow?

I would first identify the business objective, users, current process, pain points, data inputs, expected outputs, and compliance constraints. I would document the proposed workflow, validate it with stakeholders, define acceptance criteria, and then implement and test the solution in a sandbox before production release.

What steps do you take to protect Salesforce data quality?

I use clear data definitions, validation rules, required fields where appropriate, duplicate-management practices, controlled integrations, and scheduled data-quality reviews. I also monitor exceptions and work with process owners to address the root cause rather than repeatedly correcting symptoms.

How do you manage changes to a business-critical CRM system?

I assess the impact, document the change, configure and test it in a non-production environment, obtain stakeholder approval, and deploy through a controlled release process. After deployment, I verify outcomes, monitor user feedback, and maintain release documentation and rollback plans.

Describe how you would handle conflicting requests from sales operations and finance teams.

I would clarify each team's underlying business goal, constraints, and urgency, then map the process and data dependencies. I would propose options that preserve data integrity and compliance, communicate trade-offs transparently, and seek an agreed prioritization from the accountable business owners.

How would you learn an unfamiliar business process at Canonical?

I would review existing documentation and system configuration, interview process owners and end users, observe the workflow where possible, and trace relevant data through connected systems. I would confirm my understanding with a concise process map and use that baseline to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
