Sample interview questions
I have configured study databases by building forms and folders, defining fields and codelists, creating eCRFs, implementing edit checks, and executing unit and user-acceptance testing. I document configurations and changes carefully, then support deployment, maintenance, and archival through study closeout.
I would first confirm the clinical and data-management requirement, define inputs and expected outputs, and build a focused function with validation and error handling. I would test normal, boundary, and invalid cases in the appropriate environment, document the logic, and support controlled release after review.
I translate protocol requirements into precise testable specifications, review logic with clinical and data-management stakeholders, and test positive, negative, boundary, and cross-form scenarios. I also evaluate query volume after release and refine checks when evidence shows that they are ambiguous or operationally burdensome.
I assess the issue’s scope and potential impact on data quality and study operations, communicate the risk promptly, and reproduce it in a controlled environment. I implement and test a documented fix through change control, coordinate validation and publishing, and provide stakeholders with a clear status update and resolution summary.
I maintain a prioritized task plan based on study timelines, patient and data impact, dependencies, and agreed service levels. I communicate risks early, track progress against milestones, document decisions, and escalate conflicts when timelines or quality could be affected.
