Sample interview questions
I would begin by defining critical fields and measurable quality rules, then profile current records to identify the largest error patterns. I would combine validation rules, ownership standards, automated alerts, regular audits, and targeted enablement, tracking improvement through a visible data-quality dashboard.
I would segment the pipeline by region, segment, source, owner, stage, and product to locate where cycle time has increased. I would validate CRM data first, compare conversion and aging trends with historical baselines, then work with sales leadership to test interventions such as stage-exit criteria, follow-up standards, or bottleneck removal.
I would include pipeline coverage, pipeline creation, stage conversion, velocity, win rate, average deal size, sales cycle length, forecast accuracy, lead response time, renewal performance, and CRM completeness. Metrics should be filterable by territory, segment, channel, product, and sales representative where appropriate.
I clarify the requested outcome, business impact, deadline, data dependencies, and decision owner for each request. I prioritize work using urgency and revenue or compliance impact, communicate trade-offs early, document assumptions, and provide stakeholders with a clear delivery plan.
A common opportunity is automating the handoff from a qualified opportunity to quote and order creation. I would map the current workflow, identify manual re-entry and approval bottlenecks, integrate required CRM and CPQ fields, add validation checks, and measure the reduction in processing time and error rates after launch.
