Sample interview questions
How would you identify and prioritize improvements in a global revenue operations function?

I would begin with baseline metrics across lead flow, pipeline conversion, velocity, forecast accuracy, data completeness, sales productivity, and renewal performance. I would combine those data points with structured feedback from sales, partners, finance, and leadership, then prioritize initiatives by revenue impact, operational risk, effort, and scalability.

Describe your approach to improving CRM data quality without creating unnecessary administrative burden for sellers.

I would define a small set of critical fields and clear ownership rules, automate enrichment and validation wherever possible, and embed required data capture into natural sales workflows. I would monitor adoption through dashboards, address recurring root causes, and show sales teams how better data improves territory decisions, forecasting, and deal support.

How would you manage the rollout of a new pricing, packaging, or CPQ process?

I would establish cross-functional governance with sales, finance, product, legal, and systems teams, document the commercial rules, and test the process with representative users before broad release. A phased rollout, role-based training, clear documentation, and post-launch monitoring would help reduce quoting errors and speed adoption.

What metrics would you use to assess the effectiveness of sales operations?

I would track pipeline coverage, stage conversion, sales-cycle velocity, forecast accuracy, quota attainment, win rate, lead response time, renewal rate, CRM data completeness, quote turnaround time, and seller productivity. The metrics should be segmented by channel, geography, product, and customer segment so actions are targeted rather than generic.

How do you handle disagreement with senior sales leaders about operational policy or performance standards?

I would first clarify the business objective and use reliable data to make the trade-offs visible. I would propose practical alternatives, explain the expected impact on revenue and execution, and seek agreement on measurable success criteria. Once a decision is made, I would document it, communicate it clearly, and monitor outcomes for adjustment.
