Sample interview questions
I listen for the speaker's full meaning, render the message faithfully without adding or omitting information, and ask for clarification when terminology or audio is unclear. I also manage turn-taking so each participant can speak in complete segments.
I would follow the interpreter code of conduct, share information only as required to interpret the conversation, and never retain, discuss, or disclose client details outside the assignment. I would also work from a private, secure environment.
I would politely intervene in the appropriate language, explain that I need one speaker at a time, and request shorter segments. This protects accuracy and ensures every party is understood.
I focus on conveying each person's words, tone, and intent accurately while avoiding personal opinions, advice, or advocacy. I maintain a calm professional tone and follow established interpretation protocols.
I maintain a quiet workspace with reliable technology and internet access, monitor availability carefully, and can answer calls promptly. I am comfortable using web-based platforms, email, and digital documentation tools independently.
