The role, in a nutshell:
Chainguard is looking for an Enterprise Account Executive to expand our footprint within large organizations. You’ll own the full sales cycle with enterprise customers — from building pipeline to closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals — and help some of the world’s biggest companies build and secure software the right way.
The best candidates run a disciplined sales process, generate their own pipeline, and are comfortable navigating long enterprise buying cycles involving technical, security, and executive stakeholders. You’ll partner closely with Sales Engineering, Customer Engineering, and Marketing to drive evaluations forward and win.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting through close
- Build and manage pipeline across a defined set of enterprise accounts
- Lead discovery, qualification, and deal strategy using frameworks like MEDDPICC
- Communicate Chainguard’s value to technical stakeholders, security leaders, and executive buyers
- Partner with Sales Engineering and Customer Engineering to run technical evaluations and validation
- Manage complex sales cycles, including procurement, security review, and negotiation
- Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue and pipeline targets
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years selling complex technical products into enterprise organizations
- Must be bilingual in Portuguese and English
- A track record of building your own pipeline and consistently closing revenue
- Fluency in a disciplined enterprise sales methodology (MEDDPICC or similar)
- Skill identifying customer pain and selling on measurable business value
- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise buying cycles, from technical teams to executives
- Strong deal management and forecast discipline across complex, concurrent opportunities
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Comfort operating in a fast-growing environment with evolving processes

- 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck.
- ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset.
- 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child’s first year.

Sample interview questions
I segment accounts by strategic fit, security maturity, potential business impact, and likely buying triggers. I create account plans that map technical champions, economic buyers, security stakeholders, and procurement contacts, then use relevant outreach, partner activity, and discovery to create multiple paths into each account.
I use MEDDPICC as a living qualification framework rather than a checklist. I validate measurable outcomes, identify the economic buyer and decision process, understand paper process and pain, establish decision criteria, develop a champion, and address competition before committing an opportunity to forecast.
I would first align on the customer’s technical and business success criteria, scope, timeline, stakeholders, and decision process. I would partner with Sales Engineering to run a focused evaluation, document evidence against agreed criteria, address risks quickly, and connect technical outcomes to the executive value case.
I establish procurement and security-review requirements early and build them into the mutual action plan. If delays arise, I clarify the specific blocker, assign owners and dates, engage the right internal experts, maintain executive alignment on value, and keep the forecast updated based on verified next steps.
I forecast based on validated buyer actions, confirmed decision process, technical progress, commercial alignment, and realistic close dates rather than seller optimism. I regularly inspect gaps, distinguish pipeline from commit opportunities, and communicate risks early with a clear plan to resolve them.
