Head of Information Technology

I lead enterprise IT operations in complex and regulated environments where downtime, security incidents, and poor technical decisions directly impact business continuity, finances, and reputation. With over a decade of experience across healthcare, telecommunications, and multi-site organizations, I specialize in reducing operational and cybersecurity risk, modernizing infrastructure, and aligning technology decisions with executive and board-level objectives. My work spans infrastructure transformation, cybersecurity governance, business continuity, and cost optimization, combining hands-on technical leadership with executive decision-making.

Currently, I serve as the Head of Information Technology at Synlab, where I lead IT strategy and operations for a large healthcare organization. I have successfully directed major migrations including applications, laboratory information systems, and physical servers to virtualized environments, which have improved performance and reduced costs. I also design enterprise connectivity solutions and support global cybersecurity initiatives.

Previously, I worked as a Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Coordinator at Telenews, where I developed cybersecurity baselines, implemented policies aligned with ISO 27001 and PCI DSS, and deployed ITSM and monitoring platforms to enhance incident response. I also created business continuity and disaster recovery plans for high-impact scenarios.

My earlier roles include Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer at FARMADESCUENTO S.A., where I led network migrations and managed IT support teams, and Information Technology Coordinator at TRACTODIESEL, where I transitioned analog systems to IP-based platforms and implemented core IT and cybersecurity infrastructure.

I hold a Master of Cybersecurity from Universidad de los Hemisferios – IMF Global University, where I specialized in mobile security, secure development, Red and Blue Team methodologies, and legal regulations. My undergraduate degree is in Computer Systems and Communication Engineering from Universidad ECOTEC, focusing on software development, network and server administration, databases, and cybersecurity.

I am fluent in Spanish and English, with elementary proficiency in Italian and Chinese. I am certified in Fortinet Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Generative AI, Service Desk Leadership, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and Remote Work Professional certifications. I am passionate about leveraging technology to improve operational resilience, security, and business alignment.
