Python Backend / Data Platform Engineer

I am a Python Backend and Data Platform Engineer with over 3 years of experience building scalable and high-performance services as well as internal developer platforms. My expertise lies in async architectures, distributed systems, and Kubernetes-based infrastructure, where I have achieved up to 3x performance improvements and significantly reduced infrastructure load through optimization and caching strategies. I have a strong ownership mindset and have led a team of 4 engineers, mentoring them and driving services from design to production.

Currently, I focus on the Data Platform and Data Tools ecosystem, including data pipelines, metadata management, and analytics tooling. I have contributed to open-source projects, such as Pyrus API, and have experience building and optimizing data flows between internal services. My work involves improving data access performance and reducing latency in distributed systems, collaborating closely with internal users to enhance tooling and data accessibility.

In my current role at Sovcombank Technologies, I lead the development of internal backend services and integrations used across multiple teams. I migrated core services to async architecture, which increased performance by 3x, and reduced test execution time by 50%, accelerating release cycles. I have designed and implemented CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, improving deployment reliability, and built optimized integrations that reduced manual operations and improved data exchange efficiency.

I have deployed and maintained services in Kubernetes environments, ensuring scalability and fault tolerance. Additionally, I developed an internal AI-agent service to automate business workflows and data-driven processes across teams. I am fluent in Russian (native) and have an upper-intermediate level of English (B2). I hold a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building, completed between 2015 and 2017.
