To be an effective advertising copywriter, one must possess skills and abilities in clear communication and visual storytelling, creative strategy, product descriptions, adapting to brand-voice, having a keen eye for media and industry trends, understanding the creative process from concept to execution, and being open to exploring new ideas and opportunities. I have these qualities and have practiced them for the past three years working at Annex88 (Havas Media Group – NY), St. Mark’s Yoga, directing the college student-run ad agency as President, and completing an industry intensive and project-based Advertising Communications program at St. John’s University.
During my internship at Annex88, I wrote fresh, brand-adaptable copy that connects with a desired audience, perfectly describes the product at hand, and drives action, while also generating attention-grabbing ideas that entice consumers across various platforms and designing eye-catching presentation decks that fit the creative brief and concepts.
I participated in the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) during my Junior year at St. John’s University. I worked in an agency setting with various teams to develop a multiple-project campaign for Meta Quest 2 VR headset. Together, my team conducted brand research and analyzed demographic data to develop a niche target audience and solve a consumer problem. I worked alongside the creative team to produce ads, flyers, video, and social media concepts, adhering to brand guidelines and focusing on the creative brief. This experience propelled me to be appointed to serve as President of Category 5, St. John’s student-run advertising agency. This role required me to manage a dozen projects in creative production for multiple in-house clients.
I would appreciate the opportunity to present my portfolio and discuss how my skills and experiences can benefit your company.
