The Manager Compensation is responsible for driving the end-to-end global compensation activities for the company. This position will provide mentorship and coaching to the members of the compensation team to ensure business units are receiving the tools resources and support needed to achieve their objectives through people.
What you will be doing
Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of the compensation team; provide coaching guidance support and continuous feedback to drive performance and professional development
Manage the administration of recurring incentive compensation cycles including accruals auditing eligibility survey participation benchmarking commissions and incentive management and ensure they are in compliance with established guidelines processes procedures and legal requirements
Lead the design and effectiveness analytics of global incentive compensation programs
Explore the market best practices in compensation and by understanding the companyβs culture and total rewards strategy lead the implementation of changes into the organization accordingly
Design and implement modern compensation strategies that attract retain and motivate top talent in a competitive market
Support senior management and executive leadership team in compensation decision processes; provide guidance education and reporting to enable sound business decisions
Manage and lead the direction of executing department benchmarks protocols and objectives. Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics; track team performance against established metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employees
Develop team members; coach employees through their personal growth in functional expertise communication skills and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers. Perform all Human Resources-related managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring compensation management employment relations and termination of employees. Assist with identifying and developing future leaders.
Lead cross-functional initiatives that integrate compensation strategies with overall talent management and business objectives.
Research regulatory requirements; conduct or direct audits and reviews as needed. Ensure compliance with relevant laws regulations and company policies related to compensation.
Prepare detailed global compensation-related materials for the board as needed
Engage with global executive leadership and HR support teams to provide expert advice interpretations and solutions regarding incentive compensation policies and practices
Lead training and communication initiatives on incentive compensation programs across the global organization
Use open dialogue effective listening and strong relationship-building to become a trusted partner of the organization
Operate as a thought leader among the team; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department
Evaluate define and maintain the process and procedures used by team; Identify opportunities for process improvement and greater efficiency and serve as an advocate for change
Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance resolve issues as necessary and remove obstacles for team
Execute on the team’s strategy and ensure team projects are completed within scope time cost and quality
Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hylandβs Information Systems Security Policy
What will make you successful
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Business Administration Accounting or related field
8+ years progressive compensation experience or related HR experience
5+ years experience with sales compensation and bonus program administration and planning required
5+ years experience with global compensation required
5+ years experience with analysis and design of equity compensation programs required
2+ years people leadership experience preferred
Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred
Detailed working knowledge of compensation principles practices and relevant laws and regulations
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence team members
Superior understanding in all areas of compensation including job architecture short and long-term incentive plan design/administration and financial acumen
Superior compensation and quantitative business skills
Microsoft Windows and Office proficient; advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
Experience with HRIS systems benchmarking and compensation systems
Superior oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
Superior research and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to interpret data summarize results and make recommendations
Demonstrated success in proactively proposing selling and successfully leading change initiatives
Demonstrated ability to articulate complex topics both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences comfortable and successful in presenting to both small and large audiences
Ability to utilize consultative expertise and practical insights to shape and drive effective compensation programs and recommendations demonstrating leadership and influence across all organizational levels
Growth mindset with the ability to thrive in dynamic environments
Based on individual statesβ employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $130,000-$160,000 and eligible for benefits
