Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Improving the monorepo developer experience by identifying and fixing key friction points in local development and CI workflows
- Streamlining integration workflows by rolling out consistent, scalable improvements to integration and deployment paths
- Defining and establishing metrics that track developer collaboration and effectiveness across the platform
- Partnering with platform teams to reduce CI latency and improve performance at scale
- Enabling smarter collaboration across shared code, including stacked PR support
- Surfacing integration issues earlier in the workflow through innovative CI feedback systems
- Collaborating with dozens of other teams in the DevX and Infra groups to ensure a cohesive end-to-end experience for every Canvanaut.
You’re probably a match if:
- You code in Golang or Python: You’re confident with one and keen to upskill in the other.
- You have a strong track record in high-performing engineering teams and have influenced large-scale development practices
- You’re passionate about developer experience and reducing cognitive load for engineers
- You’re adept at navigating ambiguity, communicating with clarity, and driving forward technical initiatives
- You’re comfortable collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders including PMs, TPMs, and platform engineers
- You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a bias for action and continuous improvement
- You write clean, maintainable code and can wear multiple hats—from planning to delivery
- You have hands-on experience using AI in coding / programming to drive greater impact

The Developer Collaboration team is focused on enabling fast, consistent, and reliable development workflows across the entire engineering org. Our mission is to remove friction and accelerate developer velocity—especially in areas like the monorepo experience, integration workflows, and tooling cohesion. We stay responsive to the evolving needs of engineers, ensuring they have intuitive, high-leverage tools to build, test, and ship confidently. Our team values clean architecture, adaptability, and collaboration—driving impact through thoughtful, scalable solutions that support Canva’s broader vision and pace of innovation.
