Overall ambition of the role:
To head up a small property estate team, identifying and acquiring restaurant sites, to influence the growth of the business, estate management with lease, rent review and service charge accountability. To be responsible for leasing, appraising prospective property and locations, producing reports and recommendations. To implement and contribute to a 5-year plan of expansion of 20 new openings per year.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
Be accountable for the property portfolio – c500 restaurants currently
Evolve strategic three year plan for locational pipeline, review to allow for significant changes and market shifts
Use knowledge of financial metrics of a Nando’s restaurant in appraisal
Work with a broad base of local or national agents, maintain strong relationships to secure the best site
Undertake negotiations with the Landlord/Developer and maximise opportunity for a Nando’s specification
Create and develop a site opening programme for Regional Director areas
Acquire sites, from identifying sites, preparing feasibility reports, and handling legal and planning requirements through to handover to design/pm team
Managing the legal/developer solicitor process through to exchange of contracts
Engage Landlords in Nando’s Sustainability objectives
Build relationships with property professionals in similar and complimentary businesses
To promote best practice within the Property function and constantly look to improve processes and procedures
Support the PM team where estate management is required for licence for alterations, negotiations with adjacent tenants, party wall agreements and in any way to keep restaurants in a good state of repair

Hot skills required:
15+ years in asset management, with very strong experience and love for acquisitions, doing a great deal resulting in profitable trading outcomes
MRICs or equivalent qualification
Sound knowledge of property market in the UK, retail or hospitality
Experience in strategy and planning for the Estate
A good understanding of real estate law
Strong commercial acumen and understanding, naturally curious nature and desire to problem solve
Excellent negotiating and influencing skills
Naturally calm under pressure, able to distinguish the critical from the chaos
Excellent decision making with sound judgement
Extremely agile and able to manage own time and operate without close supervision
