About Schibsted

We embrace change to improve journalism.

Verified job posting
This job post has been manually reviewed for authenticity and compliance.

Schibsted Media strengthens democratic societies through independent, high-quality journalism. With leading media brands such as Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet, Aftenposten, and VG, we empower millions of people across the Nordics to make informed decisions every day.

As we establish a new, dedicated IT organization for Schibsted, we are building modern, secure, and intuitive services to support our mission – and we need you on the journey.

Are you passionate about delivering great user experiences? Are you excited by automation, user experience, and the Apple/macOS ecosystem? Then read on.

What you’ll do

As a Mac System Administrator in the User Devices and Tools team, you will shape and operate the user experience for Schibsted Media’s employees. You’ll make sure our people, whether in a newsroom or working remotely, can focus on their craft with the right tools at their fingertips.

You’ll focus on our macOS environment, taking ownership of our Jamf MDM system, while working closely with teams across Schibsted Media Tech Foundation. You’ll approach your work with a DevOps mindset, automating, integrating, and improving as much as possible.

You’re curious, proactive, and pragmatic. Security, scalability, and usability all matter to you and you know how to balance them.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage the Jamf MDM client systems: software packaging, patch management, security measures, integrations, and projects
  • Continuously optimise the user experience across laptops, smartphones and tablets
  • Develop and be open minded to current and future needs and trends
  • Collaborate within the team and with the other teams in Schibsted Media Tech Foundation
  • Provide tools and information to support the Service Desk
  • Engage with external vendors and partners to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions

What we’re looking for:

You’re someone who thrives in a fast-moving, tech-savvy environment. You enjoy making complex systems feel simple for the end users. And you see the big picture: helping independent journalism thrive through great tech.

We believe you bring:

  • Solid experience as a System Administrator or Systems Engineer working with Apple/macOS environments
  • Hands-on experience managing Jamf MDM cloud solution
  • Experience with enterprise client platforms – deployment, operation, and development
  • Deep understanding of macOS technologies
  • Comfort with programming, version control, and integration solutions
  • A security-first mindset with an understanding of modern threats and how to mitigate them
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritise
  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience maintaining and supporting business/IT applications
  • Understanding of the unique workflows in a media organisation
  • Familiarity with Windows, Intune, Azure Services, and Azure AD

Why join Schibsted?

At Schibsted, we value openness, curiosity, and collaboration. We empower our people to take ownership, think boldly, and drive meaningful change. You’ll join a diverse, inclusive environment where your work has a real impact on your colleagues, on our company, and on society.

  • Help journalists focus on what they do best – telling the stories that matter.
  • Apply today and be part of the future of media IT.
