About You

Youโ€™re looking for an environment, team, and role where youโ€™ll thrive and do the best work of your career. Thatโ€™s why, as a Senior Product Designer II on our AI team:

  • Youโ€™ll have a โ€œseat at the tableโ€ from Day 1. Your partners and peers know what you do, greatly value it, and expect you to have strong opinions.
  • Youโ€™ll co-own a significant part of the product with your partners and youโ€™ll all have the autonomy you need to drive its strategy and vision.
  • Youโ€™ll never have to guess about how to get promoted. We support you with clear expectations and career paths.
  • Youโ€™ll be able to work where and how you work best: at home, the office, or any mix of both

About Our AI Team

At HubSpot, our rapidly expanding AI team is at the forefront of shaping the future of enterprise AI experiences. We’re developing innovative AI agents for front office teams that will transform how businesses and their customers interact with artificial intelligence, helping our customers achieve their goals faster than ever before.

Designing in the AI space is fast-paced and full of unknowns. Last year, we launched Breeze Customer Agent, one of our flagship AI Agents that can resolves 50%+ of common customer support issues, assists with simple actions, and escalates when human support is needed. Building on this success, we’re evolving it into a 24/7 AI Concierge that supports high-volume conversations across marketing, sales, and service. We’re also building a robust AI agent platform to empower internal teams and third-party developers to create custom agents for diverse, powerful use cases.

We tackle unique research and design challenges, turning user skepticism into intuitive experiences that unlock creativity and professional potential. We balance cutting-edge innovation with a strong commitment to delivering tangible, valuable solutions. Embracing a ‘learning-by-doing’ approach, we constantly learn from a quickly evolving market. You don’t need to be an AI expert; we seek curious, driven, imaginative, designers with a high bar for craft who are eager to learn and grow. This is a unique opportunity at the intersection of UX and AI to define what’s next.

You’ll love this role if you

You’re a strategic thinker with a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to solve complex problems and deliver measurably impactful user experiences. You champion customer empathy, are adept at integrating research insights, and maintain a high bar for both interaction and visual design craft.

You’re an excellent communicator, clearly articulating design decisions and research findings to diverse stakeholders. You thrive in a collaborative environment, actively seeking and providing feedback to improve design outcomes.

As a designer, you are:

  • Autonomous & adaptable: You thrive in uncertainty and excel at solving unstructured problems.
  • A strategic systems thinker: You think holistically and can design for multiple personas and use cases.
  • Creative & future-focused: You bring innovative ideas and are eager to try new things, especially in AI.
  • A platform-minded problem-solver: You’re excited to design tools and frameworks others will build upon.
  • Execution-strong: You bring clarity, influence across functions, and get things done with attention to detail.
  • Skilled in remote collaboration: You’ve thrived in distributed team environments and can influence effectively from afar.
  • Curious with a growth-mindset: You’re eager to learn new technologies and approaches, and can quickly adapt to evolving requirements and market trends

You align with HubSpotโ€™s HEART values (Humble, Empathetic, Adaptable, Remarkable, Transparent). Bonus points if you have experience with complex front-office systems like CRM or omnichannel tools.

Here’s what success in your role looks like

We seek a Senior Product Designer II with end to end, product design experience, ideally in sophisticated B2B SaaS or AI/ML products. As a Senior Product Designer II on our Customer Agent Growth, Onboarding, and Setup teams, you’ll help set the vision and drive strategic outcomes across a significant portion of our product. You’ll have a seat at the table from day one, working closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers.

You’ll shape how customers discover, evaluate, and get value from our AI-powered product. This includes:

  • Product-led growth and first-time setup experiences
  • AI agent monetization and in-product discovery
  • Human <> AI handoffs and out-of-office support
  • Expanding omnichannel capabilities
  • Segmentation, targeting, and evolving to new front-office use cases

You will translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive and delightful user experiences that directly impact a key product area.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Design & executution: Taking ownership of design initiatives from concept to launch, delivering high-quality user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Problem solving: Breaking down complex, ambiguous AI problems into manageable, actionable design challenges, driving discovery and validation activities.
  • User-centered design: Putting users at the center by conducting research (e.g., usability testing, interviews) to understand needs and pain points related to AI, synthesizing findings into actionable insights.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional partners to influence design decisions and advocate for user needs.
  • Interaction & visual design: Designing interactions for AI-powered features, proposing multiple solutions, and applying visual design principles for polished, accessible interfaces.
  • Prototyping: Utilizing appropriate methods and tools to test hypotheses and communicate design intent efficiently.
  • Systems thinking: Considering the broader implications of your design decisions, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Mentorship: Actively participating in design critiques and contributing to the growth of junior designers.
