Are you a native speaker of Spanish with experience in localization? Would you like to join our Localization team to contribute with developing and shaping translation and localization processes for our content production in Spanish?

The Localisation Specialist role is key in driving quality standards for localized products that are relevant and appropriate for the target market. Highly motivated and collaborative, as a Localisation Specialist, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be comfortable dealing with development teams, vendors, senior management and customers alike. You must have a logical approach to problem-solving and the ability to inspire others.

Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Proactively contribute to the creation, revision, and maintenance of glossary and style guide for Spanish, to ensure it is relevant and appropriate for the target market.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date guidelines, content samples, manuals, and process documentation
  • Build relationships with localization vendors/video houses ensuring they understand the quality of adaption/localization required and provide ongoing support for the successful completion of each project. An understanding of the local and market cultural sensitivities is essential.
  • Evaluating and engaging new vendors, technologies and services to support the changing production process.
  • Performing LQAs to ensure deliverables consistently meet expectations and provide regular feedback to vendors.
  • Implement necessary edits, as required.
  • Taking ownership of project deliverables.
  • Support Project Management in coordinating localization tasks. Tasks in this area include, but are not limited to the following: Monitoring of localization/language edits and tracking in the edit database. Supporting the project team with queries. Asset management – Keeping track of asset translation schedule, manage timelines to meet project deadlines.
  • Keeping track of trends in the quality of online content and reporting back to the Localization team.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Native speaker of Spanish
  • Excellent standard of English – both written and spoken
  • Minimum of 12 months previous experience in localization/internationalization process for the Spanish market
  • An understanding of the local and market cultural sensitivities is essential
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Analytical in their approach to work
  • Strong attention to detail essential
  • Ability to provide strong constructive feedback to content developers
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Working knowledge of Excel for tracking and production purposes,

Education and Certifications

  • Third-Level qualification preferable
