Principal Engineer (Remote Outside US) – Real-World Asset Minter Infrastructure

Location: Remote – Europe or on the East Coast for South America/Canada (No US)

Compensation: $200K – $225K

We are building a critical piece of infrastructure that is the first live Minter on a major protocol. Our system transforms real-world collateral, such as U.S. Treasuries, into on-chain monetary building blocks ($M). This programmable, composable foundation allows builders to create their own application-specific digital dollars. We are seeking a Principal Engineer to take full-stack ownership of the systems that power this creation and distribution.

This role begins as a high-impact Senior Individual Contributor position with broad autonomy to define architecture and set engineering practices, designed to grow into a technical leadership role. You will work directly with leadership to execute a clear, productized system vision. Your focus will be on building the institutional-grade infrastructure that enables automated minting, multi-chain liquidity, and key integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Infrastructure Design: Design and develop automated on-chain minting and cross-chain stablecoin liquidity management solutions.
  • Operational Resilience: Engineer institutional-grade infrastructure with high uptime, automation, and operational resilience to deliver reliable services to partners.
  • Full-Stack Development: Deploy modern web applications, CLI tools, and lightweight UIs using best practices to ensure security, compliance, and high availability.
  • Monitoring & Tooling: Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to deliver high-uptime, low-latency user experiences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operators and control function teams to build tools and interfaces that enhance customer experience, issuance/treasury operations, and risk management/reconciliation workflows.
  • Mentorship & Excellence: Promote engineering excellence, mentor mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Core Languages: Strong proficiency in TypeScript and solid expertise in Python and SQL.
  • Blockchain Development: Proficient in smart contract development for EVM-compatible chains.
  • Backend Expertise: Advanced backend experience (Node.js, Python, or similar) and a proven history of building scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • DeFi Domain Knowledge: Direct experience with DeFi applications (lending, AMMs, stablecoins) and the ability to design and implement complex on-chain financial logic.
  • Infrastructure: Practical experience deploying and managing applications across multi-region cloud platforms and proficient with CI/CD processes and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Full-Stack Comfort: Comfortable working across the stack, from backend systems and APIs to CLI tools and lightweight UIs.
  • Location: Must be based outside of the United States.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Prior experience with the Fireblocks API.
  • Experience designing infrastructure that supports real-world financial operations and meets institutional reliability expectations.

Benefits

  • Compensation: Highly competitive compensation (base salary of $200K – $225K with equity/token grant) commensurate with experience.
  • Global Team & Flexibility: Join a truly global team with full remote flexibility (outside of the US).
  • Autonomy & Impact: Broad autonomy to define architecture and technical direction, working directly with the project Head and CTO on a clear system vision.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive healthcare insurance coverage, a well-being allowance, and a gym membership to support physical and mental health.
  • Professional Development: Annual development budget for skill enhancement, including opportunities to participate in conferences and on-site company events worldwide.
  • Customizable Setup: Tailor your workspace with access to top-notch IT equipment.
  • Culture: High-autonomy, delivery-focused culture with a team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
