As part of Akamai’s Cloud Compute team, we enable customers to secure and isolate their resources and workloads on the Akamai Connected Cloud, by designing and implementing networking products such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Firewall and VLAN. This role offers a unique opportunity to write prodution-quality software in the networking domain.
Shape the future of the Akamai Connected Cloud
This role provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on Akamai’s growing cloud offerings. You must have a passion to get things done quickly and get them done right.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Helping build out cloud platform functionality that sets up, manages, and protects networking in the Akamai Connected Cloud.
- Working on and extending our local Linux container network development environment.
- Designing, implementing, reviewing, documenting, and testing high quality code in close collaboration with your team.
- Working closely with local peers, and coordinating with teams globally as part of building on new features or dealing with bugs from users.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have experience with object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, C++, C#, or Go.
- Have solid skills in writing, testing and understanding complex computer software.
- Be experienced in technical design, product specifications reviews, projects and backlog planning.
- Be able to work productively with team members to identify and resolve issues in a collaborative manner
