I am writing to express my interest in the Site Reliability Engineer position at MANTECH. With over 7 years of experience in information systems security and infrastructure engineering, I have developed expertise in OCP, AWS, and VSphere, as well as agile methodologies. My background includes creating Body of Evidence documentation and managing system accreditation processes, directly aligning with this role's requirements.

I am particularly drawn to MANTECH's mission of supporting national defense through advanced technology. My experience working in complex mission environments and driving security agendas across large teams will enable me to contribute effectively to the Command Data Office's goals.

I hold an active Secret clearance and am eager to bring my skills in lean startup principles and security compliance to your team. Thank you for considering my application.

Can you describe your experience with OCP (OpenShift Container Platform) and how you have used it to build scalable infrastructure?
I have used OCP to deploy and manage containerized applications, leveraging its orchestration capabilities for scaling and high availability. For example, I set up a cluster that auto-scaled based on load, ensuring resource efficiency.
How do you approach creating Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation for system accreditation?
I start by understanding the security controls required, then document the system's architecture, configurations, and compliance evidence. I use tools like Fortify for vulnerability scans and ensure all documentation is updated and accurate for auditors.
Describe a time you had to implement security controls in a complex, multi-system environment. What challenges did you face?
In a previous role, I integrated security controls across legacy and cloud systems. The main challenge was ensuring consistency; I solved it by creating standardized templates and automating compliance checks using tools like Satellite.
How do you stay updated with the latest security threats and compliance requirements?
I regularly attend webinars, follow security forums, and pursue certifications like CISSP. I also participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions to keep the team informed.
Explain how you would use lean startup principles in an SRE context to improve system reliability.
Lean startup principles involve building minimum viable products, measuring outcomes, and learning from feedback. For reliability, I would implement small changes, monitor their impact on uptime, and iterate quickly to improve without major disruptions.
