Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Data Privacy Specialist position at Sedgwick. With a strong foundation in GDPR and hands-on experience managing DSARs and data breaches, I am confident in my ability to support your privacy programme. My organizational skills and attention to detail ensure accurate handling of privacy requests and compliance documentation.

I am particularly drawn to Sedgwick's caring culture and commitment to work-life balance. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to discuss how my experience can benefit your team.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Can you describe your experience with managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) from receipt to completion?
I have handled DSARs by first verifying the requester's identity, then locating and reviewing all relevant personal data within the organization. I redact third-party information and exemptions, compile the response, and ensure it is sent within the statutory timeframe. I also document the process for audit trails.
How do you stay updated on changes to data protection laws like GDPR?
I subscribe to regulatory newsletters from the ICO, follow privacy law blogs, and attend webinars. I also participate in professional groups and take online courses to keep my knowledge current.
Describe a time you identified a potential data breach. What steps did you take?
I noticed an unauthorized access attempt in our system logs. I immediately reported it to the privacy team, isolated the affected data, and initiated the breach response protocol. We assessed the risk, notified the supervisory authority, and implemented additional security measures.
How would you handle conflicting priorities when multiple DSARs are received simultaneously?
I would prioritize based on deadlines and complexity, communicate with requesters about timelines, and escalate if needed. I use project management tools to track progress and ensure no requests are missed.
What is your approach to conducting a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)?
I start by identifying the processing purpose and necessity, then assess risks to individuals' rights. I consult with stakeholders, document mitigation measures, and review the DPIA regularly. I ensure it aligns with GDPR requirements.
