Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Motion Designer (Contractor) position at Fortis Games. With over 5 years of experience creating high-impact video ads for mobile games, I have a strong track record of driving user acquisition through compelling motion design. My expertise in After Effects and Premiere Pro, combined with a data-driven approach to creative optimization, aligns perfectly with your focus on performance-driven content.

I have successfully scaled motion templates and integrated AI tools to improve production efficiency, resulting in a 20% increase in CTR for previous campaigns. I thrive in cross-functional environments and am eager to collaborate with your UA and Product Marketing teams to innovate and iterate rapidly.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to Fortis Games' mission of bringing people together through great games.

Can you describe a time when you used performance data to iterate on a motion design asset and improve its CTR or CVR?
In my previous role, I created a series of video ads for a mobile puzzle game. After analyzing the data, I noticed that ads featuring a specific gameplay mechanic had a 30% higher CTR. I iterated by emphasizing that mechanic in the first 3 seconds, which increased CVR by 15%.
How do you integrate AI tools into your motion design workflow? Give a specific example.
I use AI tools like Runway ML to generate background animations and Adobe Sensei for auto-reframing. For example, I used an AI tool to quickly generate multiple variations of a text overlay, which saved 2 hours per asset and allowed for A/B testing more efficiently.
Describe a project where you collaborated with UA and Product Marketing teams. How did you ensure alignment?
I worked on a campaign for a new game launch. I held weekly syncs with UA to review performance metrics and with Product Marketing to understand player motivations. We created a shared dashboard for real-time feedback, ensuring that creative iterations were aligned with growth targets.
What is your process for creating scalable motion templates for rapid iteration?
I start by identifying common elements across campaigns, such as intro animations or call-to-action buttons. I build modular After Effects templates with essential controls and dynamic text/image placeholders. This allows the team to swap assets quickly without rebuilding from scratch.
How do you stay updated on emerging trends in motion design and performance marketing?
I follow industry blogs like Mobile Dev Memo and attend webinars on creative optimization. I also experiment with new formats like playable ads and subscribe to platforms like Adweek. Recently, I learned about using Lottie animations for lightweight ads.

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, formats, and technologies in motion design and performance marketing, continuously evolving our creative approach.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Strong experience in motion design, animation, or performance creative roles, ideally within gaming, mobile, or entertainment environments.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop; experience with 3D tools (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing principles and experience creating assets for user acquisition or paid media campaigns.
  • Ability to translate creative strategy and insights into engaging, high-performing video content.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and workflows, with curiosity to continue evolving in this space.
  • Strong storytelling, composition, and pacing skills, particularly in short-form video formats.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, creative, and product teams.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and iterations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret performance data and apply insights to creative decisions.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
