Key Skills

Oracle Cloud HCM BI Publisher OTBI SQL Data Management Data Visualization PensionGold System Integration Data Governance Cross-functional Collaboration

I am writing to express my strong interest in the HR Technology and Reporting Analyst position. With a background in systems analysis and data management, I have extensive experience supporting enterprise HCM systems like Oracle Cloud. I am skilled in SQL, BI Publisher, and data visualization, and I excel at translating business needs into technical solutions.

In my previous role, I successfully managed data integrity projects and developed dashboards that improved decision-making. I am adept at collaborating across departments to ensure data governance and process improvements. I am confident that my technical expertise and customer service focus align well with the needs of Arlington County.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your award-winning HR department. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to discussing how I can support your team.

Can you describe your experience with Oracle Cloud HCM or similar HR systems? How have you used them to support reporting and data integrity?
I have worked with Oracle Cloud HCM for over 3 years, managing data extraction using SQL and building reports in BI Publisher. I ensured data integrity by implementing validation rules and regular audits. For example, I created a dashboard to track employee lifecycle events, reducing data discrepancies by 20%.
How do you approach gathering requirements from business stakeholders for reporting and dashboard solutions?
I start by meeting with stakeholders to understand their goals and pain points. I ask targeted questions to define key metrics and data sources. Then I prototype a dashboard and iterate based on feedback. For instance, I collaborated with Payroll to design a compensation report that saved 10 hours per month.
Describe a time when you had to troubleshoot a data workflow issue. What steps did you take?
I once encountered a data integration failure between Oracle HCM and PensionGold. I first isolated the issue by reviewing logs and testing connections. I identified a schema change and coordinated with DTS to update the mapping. I then implemented monitoring alerts to prevent recurrence.
How do you ensure data governance and compliance in your work?
I follow established data governance frameworks, classifying data by sensitivity and applying access controls. I document data lineage and maintain audit trails. For example, I created a data dictionary for HR metrics and ensured all reports met privacy requirements.
Can you give an example of a training or outreach initiative you led to improve data literacy?
I developed a workshop series on using BI tools for managers. I created easy-to-follow guides and held hands-on sessions. After the training, survey scores showed a 30% increase in confidence using dashboards, and ad-hoc report requests decreased by 40%.
