Sales Agency Management Key Account Management Joint Business Planning CPG Industry P&L Responsibility Customer Collaboration Nielsen/IRI Team Coaching Microsoft Office Strategic Planning

I am excited to apply for the Agency Manager position at Colgate-Palmolive. With over 8 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, I have developed a strong track record of driving volume and share growth through effective sales agency management and customer collaboration.

In my previous role, I successfully managed key accounts and led joint business planning initiatives that resulted in a 15% increase in market share. My proficiency in using syndicated data from Nielsen and IRI has enabled me to identify growth opportunities and optimize strategies.

I am particularly drawn to Colgate-Palmolive's commitment to innovation and sustainability. I am confident that my experience in coaching sales teams and managing P&L will allow me to contribute effectively to your team and help achieve the company's objectives.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my skills align with the needs of your organization.

Can you describe your experience managing third-party sales agencies and how you ensure alignment with company objectives?
In my previous role, I managed a team of agency partners by setting clear KPIs, conducting regular performance reviews, and fostering open communication. I ensured alignment by translating corporate strategies into actionable plans for the agency, and using joint business planning to drive mutual growth.
How do you approach joint business planning with key customers?
I start by analyzing syndicated data and customer insights to identify opportunities. Then, I collaborate with the customer to set shared goals, develop plans, and track progress through regular check-ins. I focus on creating win-win scenarios that drive volume and share growth.
Describe a time you had to manage a difficult situation with a sales agency partner. How did you handle it?
Once, an agency was underperforming on a key account. I scheduled a meeting to discuss the issues, provided constructive feedback, and developed a corrective action plan with milestones. I also offered additional training and support, which improved performance by 20% in three months.
How do you use data from syndicated services like Nielsen or IRI to drive business decisions?
I use Nielsen data to track market trends, category performance, and competitive activity. For example, I identified a declining category share and worked with the agency to adjust shelf placement and promotions, which reversed the trend and increased share by 3 points.
How do you coach and develop sales agency teams to achieve their objectives?
I believe in setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback. I conduct quarterly business reviews, identify skill gaps, and arrange training sessions. I also recognize top performers and encourage peer learning to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
