Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Principal, Marketing Analytics position at Remote. With over 10 years of experience in B2B SaaS analytics and a track record of designing attribution frameworks that drive global strategy, I am excited about the opportunity to shape Remote's marketing investment decisions. My expertise in MMM, predictive LTV modeling, and executive-level storytelling aligns perfectly with your need for a visionary leader.

In my previous role, I built a unified measurement system that increased marketing ROI by 30% and influenced budget allocation across $50M in spend. I thrive in autonomous, remote environments and am eager to bring my skills to your team.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to Remote's mission.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Describe a time you designed and implemented a multi-touch attribution model for a B2B SaaS company. What challenges did you face?
At my previous company, we had a complex buyer journey with long sales cycles. I built an attribution model combining first-touch, last-touch, and linear models, then validated with holdout tests. The main challenge was data silos between marketing and sales. I worked with engineering to create a unified data pipeline in Snowflake, which improved data accuracy by 40% and allowed us to attribute revenue to specific channels.
How would you approach building a predictive LTV model for a global HR platform?
I would start by identifying key drivers of customer retention and expansion, such as number of employees, contract length, and product usage. Using historical data, I'd build a survival model or random forest to predict churn and LTV. I'd then segment customers by region and company size to tailor predictions. Finally, I'd integrate the model into our bidding algorithms to optimize ad spend for high-LTV segments.
Explain how you would measure the impact of brand marketing on revenue using Media Mix Modeling.
MMM uses statistical methods like Bayesian regression to estimate the incremental impact of various marketing channels on sales. For brand marketing, I'd include variables for brand awareness (e.g., surveys, search volume) and macro-economic factors. I'd run experiments like geo holdouts to validate the model. The output would help allocate budget between brand and performance marketing.
How do you communicate complex analytical findings to C-suite executives?
I focus on the business story: what decision needs to be made, what data supports it, and the financial impact. I use visualizations like waterfall charts or scenario tables. For example, when presenting attribution results, I'd show how changing spend allocation could increase ROI by $X million, tested with simulations. I keep the technical details in an appendix and prepare to dive deep if asked.
Describe your experience with modern data stack tools like dbt, Snowflake, and Sigma. How have you used them to scale analytics?
At my last company, I led the migration from legacy SQL to dbt for data transformations, which reduced model development time by 60%. I optimized Snowflake warehouses by setting up clustering and auto-scaling, cutting query costs by 30%. For dashboards, I used Sigma to create interactive self-service reports, empowering the marketing team to explore data without SQL.

What this job can offer you

This is a transformative time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as Principal Analyst, Marketing Analytics. As the highest-level individual contributor within our Revenue Operations team, you won’t just support our strategy—you will shape it.

We are looking for a visionary, highly autonomous expert to serve as the primary strategic partner to the Director of Planning and Analytics, the VP of Growth Marketing, and the broader executive leadership team. In this P5 role, you will own the long-term vision for our marketing data ecosystem, moving beyond project execution to architect frameworks that define our global marketing strategy. From pioneering next-generation predictive attribution models to unlocking the macroeconomic impact of brand equity, your governance will dictate Remote’s global investment strategy.

What you bring

  • Professional Experience: Distinguished track record in marketing analytics, business intelligence, or data science, with extensive experience specifically embedded in high-growth B2B SaaS or enterprise environments.
  • Architect-Level Attribution: Mastery in designing, scaling, and defending complex attribution frameworks (Multi-Touch, Media Mix Modeling, and Unified Measurement) across complex, non-linear enterprise buyer journeys.
  • Macro-Funnel Vision: Deep expertise in quantifying abstract, non-paid focus areas; a proven history of designing measurement frameworks for global brand health, organic ecosystems, Share of Voice (SoV), and long-tail market expansion.
  • Advanced Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency across the modern data stack. You are comfortable writing production-grade code, architecting data models in dbt, optimizing complex Snowflake environments, and leveraging AI/automation to scale analytical workflows.
  • Ecosystem Governance: Deep familiarity navigating and integrating enterprise CRMs and automation systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) with advanced BI ecosystems (Sigma, Tableau, Looker).
  • Executive Gravitas & Communication: Exceptional ability to command a room of C-suite executives, transforming dense, highly technical data structures into high-impact strategic narratives that drive organizational change.
  • Language: Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Remote-First Mindset: While experience working remotely isn’t required, a strong knack for asynchronous communication, high autonomy, and self-driven documentation is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Predictive Modeling

    • Next-Gen Attribution & MMM: Own and evolve the architectural vision for Remote’s attribution logic. Merge multi-touch attribution (MTA) with Media Mix Modeling (MMM) to build a unified view of both performance marketing and organic Top-of-the-Funnel (TOFU) streams.
    • Predictive LTV & Budget Optimization: Architect and maintain advanced Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) and predictive churn models. Direct how these high-quality predictive signals are fed back into ad platforms and algorithmic bidding engines to maximize efficiency.
    • Executive Planning & Capital Allocation: Partner directly with finance and marketing leadership to drive annual and quarterly planning. Own the macroeconomic forecasting models that dictate global budget allocation and ROI expectations.

Global Frameworks & Data Governance

    • Brand & Organic Quantification: Establish the global standard for measuring non-paid marketing initiatives. Build robust, defensible frameworks for Share of Voice, brand sentiment, and organic compounding to justify long-term brand investments.
    • Macro-Funnel Optimization: Analyze the end-to-end B2B funnel—from dark social and initial awareness to closed-won enterprise revenue—identifying systemic friction points and multi-million dollar white-space opportunities.
    • Data Strategy & Guardianship: Act as the ultimate authority on marketing data integrity. Partner with Data Engineering and RevOps to design the upstream data infrastructure, ensuring information flowing through HubSpot, Salesforce, and Snowflake remains an unassailable “single source of truth.”

Leadership & Innovation

    • Organizational Multiplier & Mentorship: While this role has no initial direct reports, you will serve as the technical and strategic lead for the analytics org. You will mentor senior analysts, elevate the team’s technical bar, and foster a culture of analytical excellence.
    • AI & Automation Pioneering: Standardize the deployment of AI, machine learning, and advanced automation within the marketing analytics stack to accelerate insight generation and eliminate manual reporting overhead.

Practicals

  • You’ll report to: Senior Manager, Revenue Operations
  • Team: Revenue Operations, Revenue Planning and Analytics
  • Team size: Individual Contributor role with massive cross-functional influence (No direct reports)
  • Location: For this position, we welcome everyone to apply, but we will prioritize applications from locations that align with our current regional team diversification strategies.
