Sample interview questions
How do you approach a technical SEO audit for a new client?

I start by assessing the site's crawlability and indexation using tools like Screaming Frog and Google Search Console. Then I analyze site structure, page speed, and mobile usability. I prioritize issues based on impact and create a detailed audit report with actionable recommendations.

Can you describe a time when you had to explain complex SEO concepts to a non-technical client?

I once had a client who didn't understand why page speed mattered. I used an analogy comparing a slow website to a slow checkout line, and showed them data on bounce rates and conversions. I broke down the steps we'd take, like image compression and caching, in simple terms.

How do you stay updated with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes?

I follow industry blogs like Moz and Search Engine Land, participate in webinars, and take courses. I also apply new learnings to my projects and share insights with my team to ensure we're always using best practices.

Describe a successful SEO campaign you managed. What were the key metrics and results?

I led a campaign for an e-commerce site focusing on content optimization and link building. Over six months, organic traffic increased by 40%, and revenue from organic search grew by 25%. We achieved this by targeting high-volume keywords and improving site authority.

How do you prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment?

I use project management tools like Asana to track tasks and deadlines. I prioritize based on client impact and urgency, and communicate with stakeholders to set realistic expectations. Regular check-ins help me adjust priorities as needed.
