Key Skills

Sales Management B2B Sales Consultative Selling Territory Management CRM Weather Industry Climate Tech SaaS Sales Account Management

I am excited to apply for the Sales Manager position at Spire, as your mission to advance the digitization of the global weather and climate ecosystem deeply resonates with me. With over 8 years of experience selling data and SaaS solutions to enterprise clients across EMEA and APAC, I have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building lasting client relationships.

My consultative selling approach allows me to understand clients' operational pain points and deliver tailored solutions using advanced analytics and forecasting. I am particularly drawn to Spire's innovative space-powered data products and the opportunity to drive adoption in key industries like energy, maritime, and agriculture.

I am confident that my territory management skills, cross-functional collaboration experience, and deep understanding of the climate-tech landscape will enable me to excel in this role and contribute to Spire's growth. Thank you for considering my application; I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can help expand your market presence.

Can you describe your experience selling complex data or API-based solutions to enterprise clients?
I have 3 years selling a weather data API to utility companies, where I focused on demonstrating ROI through case studies and technical demos. I managed a pipeline of 20+ accounts and closed deals ranging from $50k to $500k ARR by aligning our product with their operational needs.
How do you approach building a territory plan from scratch for a global region like EMEA and APAC?
I start by researching market segments, identifying key industries, and mapping potential clients. I prioritize based on market size, competition, and fit with our solution. I then set up a structured outreach plan using CRM data, LinkedIn, and industry events to build a pipeline. Regular reviews and adjustments keep the plan dynamic.
Describe a time you exceeded a sales target in a challenging market. What was your strategy?
At my last job, I exceeded my Q4 target by 30% in a competitive region by focusing on upselling existing clients with add-on modules. I identified their pain points through check-ins and presented tailored solutions, which increased deal size and loyalty.
How do you handle objections about the cost or value of a premium data product?
I listen to understand their concerns, then quantify the value by showing how our data reduces risk or improves decision-making. For example, I share case studies of similar clients who saw cost savings or revenue growth. If needed, I offer a trial to prove the value.
Can you give an example of how you collaborated with marketing or product teams to close a deal?
We had a prospect who needed a specific integration. I worked with product to understand feasibility and with marketing to create a custom demo. Together, we addressed the client's technical concerns and closed a $200k deal within three months.

We are seeking an ambitious, self-directed Sales Manager to accelerate revenue growth across EMEA and APAC and advance the digitization of the global weather and climate ecosystem. Operating with the autonomy of a regional owner, you will expand Spire’s market presence across key industry segments, leverage our partner ecosystem to drive adoption of our forecast data, APIs, and decision-support solutions, and consistently exceed sales targets.

This is a high-impact, quota-carrying role for a seller who is energized by how data and software are reshaping traditional industries and who wants to sell a product that is, quite literally, powered by space.

What You’ll Do

  • Own a territory: Build and execute a territory plan spanning EMEA and APAC, identifying and developing new business opportunities while growing and retaining existing client accounts.
  • Exceed targets: Meet and surpass assigned quotas through disciplined prospecting, qualification, and full-cycle deal execution.
  • Build lasting relationships: Develop strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders across the weather, climate, and earth intelligence ecosystem — understanding their needs, challenges, and objectives to tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Sell consultatively: Use a solution-selling approach to uncover clients’ operational pain points and propose tailored offerings built on Spire’s weather forecasts, historical data, and climate analytics.
  • Master the product: Develop deep expertise in Spire’s data products and platforms — their features, differentiation, and applications — to communicate compelling value to technical and executive audiences alike.
  • Deliver winning proposals: Prepare and present persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and responses to tenders that clearly articulate Spire’s value proposition.
  • Negotiate and close: Lead commercial negotiations on terms and pricing to reach mutually beneficial agreements and close deals reliably.
  • Manage your pipeline: Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline in our CRM, ensuring rigorous forecasting and timely follow-up on every lead and opportunity.
  • Know the market: Track industry trends, competitive movements, and emerging opportunities across your regions to inform strategy and identify new areas for growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with marketing, product, meteorology, and customer success teams to ensure client satisfaction and feed market insight back into product development.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, with a focus on selling data products, SaaS, or API-based solutions.
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
  • Strong understanding of the weather and climate industry, or deep experience selling digital transformation into data-driven sectors such as energy, maritime, aviation, agriculture, or logistics.
  • A consultative, value-based selling style with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships across cultures, time zones, and seniority levels.
  • Proficiency with modern sales tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Lusha).
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and effective working independently in a remote, globally distributed team.
  • Fluent in English; willingness to travel across the territory as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably in a high-tech field.

Bonus Points

  • Additional language skills relevant to the EMEA or APAC regions.
  • An existing network within meteorology, earth observation, or climate-tech communities.
  • Experience selling to or partnering with government agencies, national met services, or large enterprises in regulated industries.

Why Spire?

  • Mission with impact: help organizations worldwide adapt to a changing climate using data collected from space.
  • Real ownership: a large, high-potential territory with the autonomy to build it your way.
  • Competitive compensation: base salary plus uncapped commission, and equity participation.
  • Flexible, remote-first working within a collaborative, international team spanning four continents.
  • Generous time off, local statutory benefits, and support for professional development. (Specific benefits vary by country of employment.)

Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. If needed, Spire will arrange the necessary licenses—this is not something candidates need to have before applying. #LI-RK1
