Key Skills

Program Control Financial Analysis Budgeting Forecasting EAC/ETC Government Contracting Cost Accounting Variance Analysis Secret Clearance Remote Collaboration

I am excited to apply for the Program Control Analyst position at ManTech. With a Bachelor's degree in Finance and over 3 years of experience in program control and financial analysis, I have developed strong skills in budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis. I am adept at building and maintaining EAC/ETC models and have experience interfacing with program management and government clients.

My background includes working with cost accounting standards and managing subcontractor expenditures, which aligns with your preference for government contracting experience. I am also proficient in using financial software and have excellent communication skills for remote collaboration.

I am drawn to ManTech's mission of supporting national defense through innovative technology. I am confident that my analytical mindset and attention to detail will contribute to the success of your programs. Thank you for considering my application.

Can you describe your experience building and maintaining financial forecasting models (EAC/ETC) for government contracts?
In my previous role, I was responsible for developing EACs and ETCs for a portfolio of contracts. I gathered inputs from project managers on labor and material costs, analyzed historical data, and used Excel and financial software to model different scenarios. I also provided monthly updates and variance explanations to management.
How do you handle communication with program management and government clients regarding financial performance?
I prioritize clear and timely communication. I schedule regular status meetings to review financial reports, highlight key variances, and discuss corrective actions. I use data visualization to make reports accessible and ensure all stakeholders understand the implications of the numbers.
Walk me through a time you identified a significant budget variance and how you addressed it.
Once I noticed a negative variance in direct labor costs due to higher-than-expected overtime. I immediately alerted the program manager, analyzed the root cause, and recommended adjusting the schedule or reallocating resources. We implemented tighter tracking and the variance was corrected within the next quarter.
What is your experience with government contract financing, including cost accounting standards?
I have worked extensively with FAR, DFARS, and CAS. In my previous position, I ensured compliance by tracking allowable costs, preparing incurred cost submissions, and supporting DCAA audits. I am familiar with indirect rate structures and how they affect contract pricing.
This role is fully remote. How do you maintain productivity and collaboration in a remote environment?
I use tools like Teams and Zoom for daily check-ins, share real-time financial dashboards via cloud platforms, and set clear deadlines. I also proactively communicate with stakeholders and schedule virtual meetings to discuss complex issues, ensuring alignment despite physical distance.
