Dear Hiring Manager,
I am excited to apply for the Senior Data Analyst, Business Intelligence position at StackAdapt. With over 4 years of experience in data analytics and a strong background in SQL and data visualization, I have successfully delivered advanced reporting solutions that drove strategic decisions. In my previous role, I led end-to-end analysis projects, defined KPIs, and automated workflows using tools like Tableau and Python.
I am particularly drawn to StackAdapt's innovative approach to programmatic advertising and its data-driven culture. Your emphasis on leveraging AI/LLM tools to accelerate analysis aligns perfectly with my recent experience integrating ChatGPT into reporting pipelines to improve efficiency.
I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your Business Intelligence team and help drive impactful insights across the organization.
Sincerely, [Your Name]
Sample interview questions
I wrote a query to calculate customer lifetime value by joining transaction, customer, and campaign tables. It involved window functions, CTEs, and handling NULLs to derive accurate LTV segments for marketing strategy.
I start by understanding their key metrics and decision points. I use a clean layout with high-level KPIs at the top, followed by trend charts and filters for drill-down. I ensure the dashboard is intuitive and provides actionable insights at a glance.
I noticed discrepancies in revenue reports between systems. I traced the issue to a ETL mapping error, documented the root cause, implemented validation checks, and coordinated with engineering to fix the pipeline. I also set up automated alerts to prevent recurrence.
I align with stakeholders on business impact and urgency. Using a prioritization matrix, I categorize tasks into high-impact quick wins and long-term projects. I also communicate timelines transparently and re-prioritize during sprint planning as needed.
I used ChatGPT to generate initial SQL queries for recurring reports and draft documentation. I then refined them for accuracy, which saved 30% of my time on routine tasks, allowing me to focus on deeper analysis.
