With over X years of experience in customer marketing and product marketing within SaaS companies, I have developed a deep expertise in capturing the voice of the customer and translating it into actionable go-to-market strategies. My background includes building systematic customer interview programs, driving product adoption through lifecycle marketing, and creating sales enablement assets that resonate with both customers and internal teams.

I am particularly drawn to Teachable's mission of powering human-led education and the opportunity to work within a new, dedicated Customer Marketing team. Sample interview questions
Can you describe your experience building a voice-of-customer program from scratch?

In my previous role, I established a systematic VOC program by defining customer segments, creating interview guides, and scheduling regular interviews with customers across various lifecycle stages. I synthesized the findings into themes using qualitative analysis tools and shared them via monthly insights reports to product, marketing, and sales teams. This resulted in actionable improvements to onboarding and messaging that increased activation by 15%.

How do you measure the effectiveness of customer adoption plays?

I measure adoption plays by tracking metrics such as feature adoption rates, time-to-value, customer health scores, and retention/expansion revenue. I set clear KPIs for each play, use analytics tools to monitor usage, and conduct cohort analysis to compare engaged vs. non-engaged customers. I also gather qualitative feedback to understand what drives behavior and iterate on the plays accordingly.

Describe a time when you turned customer insights into a successful marketing campaign or enablement asset.

I once identified from customer interviews that users were struggling with a specific feature. I partnered with product to create a series of short tutorial videos that were used in lifecycle emails and by the sales team as proof points. This led to a 20% increase in feature adoption and also reduced support tickets related to that feature. I presented these results in a case study that helped close several enterprise deals.

How do you prioritize which customer stories to elevate into case studies or marketing materials?

I prioritize stories that align with our strategic goals, demonstrate clear value and measurable results, and represent different customer segments or use cases. I also consider the specific stage of the customer journey to ensure we have relevant proof points for acquisition, onboarding, expansion, and advocacy. I collaborate with sales and customer success to identify customers who are enthusiastic and willing to participate.

This role requires working closely with Product, Customer Success, and Sales. How do you manage conflicting priorities across these teams?

I manage conflicts by establishing a shared understanding of goals and using a RACI framework to clarify roles. I hold regular alignment meetings where we review customer insights and adoption metrics together. When priorities conflict, I focus on the impact on customer outcomes and business goals, and I'm not afraid to escalate if needed. Transparency and continuous communication are key to keeping everyone aligned.

About the Customer Marketing team

Customer Marketing is a new team at Teachable, an evolved scope from the previous Product Marketing team, that plays a critical role in connecting customer insight, product adoption, and business outcomes. Our team leans toward go-to-market and post-launch impact, owning positioning, messaging, enablement, and adoption, working closely with Product and Customer Success to ensure solutions land, stick, and scale. This role sits within that team and is focused specifically on understanding our customers deeply and helping them succeed with our products over time.

The role

We’re hiring a Senior Customer Marketing Manager to put the customer at the center of how we drive adoption and growth. This role is built around a simple loop: go deep with customers to uncover their real stories, partner with Product to shape and validate those stories, and then turn them into enablement that Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales can use to drive adoption, retention, and expansion.

This person will lead structured customer interviews, feedback loops, and voice-of-customer research, to identify the moments where customers get the most value from our products. Working closely with Product, they’ll turn those moments into credible, success stories and proof points that reflect how customers actually use and benefit from what we build.

From there, this role owns translating those stories into practical enablement: case studies, adoption plays, lifecycle content, and sales-ready assets, in close partnership with Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales, so every team has what it needs to help customers adopt, stay, and grow with us.

What you’ll do

Build a systematic voice-of-customer practice

  • Run ongoing customer interview and feedback programs to surface needs, blockers, and moments of value.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative customer insight into clear themes that inform Marketing, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Establish a repeatable process for capturing and sharing customer insight across the organization.

Drive product adoption through customer-centric programs

  • Design and own adoption plays and lifecycle programs that help customers get more value from our products over time.
  • Identify moments in the customer journey where targeted marketing can improve engagement, retention, or expansion.
  • Partner with Product and Customer Success to align on adoption goals and how marketing can support them.

Bring the customer voice into positioning and storytelling

  • Turn customer insight into compelling narratives, case studies, and proof points that resonate with prospects and existing customers alike.
  • Ensure customer language and real-world use cases inform how we talk about our products.

Operate as a senior individual contributor

  • Lead initiatives end-to-end with high autonomy, comfortable operating with an evolving mandate.
  • Navigate ambiguity and influence outcomes without formal authority.
  • Contribute to evolving Marketing standards, frameworks, and best practices across the team.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, or a closely related role in SaaS.
  • Hands-on experience running customer interviews and other qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience designing and executing product adoption plays or lifecycle marketing programs.
  • A genuine customer-first mindset—curious, empathetic, and motivated by understanding how customers actually experience our product.
  • Strong synthesis skills: the ability to turn raw customer feedback into clear insights and action.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in creator economy, B2B SaaS, or commerce platforms is a strong plus.
  • Fluent English.
