Cover letter sample
Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the Design Engineer, Brand role at Infisical. My background combines high-craft visual design with hands-on frontend engineering, enabling me to turn complex technical products into clear, compelling digital experiences.
I would bring strong capabilities in React, Next.js, TypeScript, design systems, and brand storytelling to build polished web experiences, launch campaigns, and reusable marketing infrastructure. I am particularly drawn to Infisical’s mission of making security easier for developers and to the opportunity to work across brand, product, and creative experimentation.
I thrive in high-ownership environments, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and iterate quickly while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. I would welcome the opportunity to help evolve Infisical’s brand and create memorable experiences for its developer audience.
Sample interview questions
I would begin by identifying the audience, desired action, core message, and success metrics. I would then develop a focused visual and interaction concept, prototype the key moments in code, validate clarity and performance, and turn successful patterns into reusable components for future launches.
I use a shared design-system mindset: establish tokens for type, color, spacing, and interaction; build accessible reusable components; and document intended usage. I preserve room for campaign-specific expression through composable layouts and controlled visual variants rather than creating one-off implementations.
I would use semantic HTML, responsive layouts, optimized assets, server-side or static rendering where appropriate, structured metadata, and performance monitoring. For SEO, I would ensure clear information architecture, relevant page metadata, schema when useful, crawlability, and fast Core Web Vitals.
I would share an early prototype that makes the decision tangible, explain the tradeoffs against the project goal, and invite focused feedback. If stakeholders disagree, I would align on the target audience, evidence, and measurable objective, then rapidly test or iterate rather than letting subjective preferences stall progress.
I would define the user problem and success signal first, keep the initial scope intentionally small, and prototype the highest-risk interaction quickly. After evaluating usability, technical feasibility, and engagement, I would either productionize the experiment with appropriate instrumentation or document what was learned and move on.

Define and evolve Infisical’s brand identity, including the visual language, creative direction, and level of craft across everything we put into the world.
Design brand and marketing surfaces, including blog graphics, merchandise, presentations, conference booths, launch campaigns, and other creative assets.
Build and maintain Infisical.com, including pixel-perfect pages, reusable frontend components, CMS integrations, SEO, analytics, and marketing tooling.
Prototype and ship ambitious engineering and creative projects, including interactive demos, AI-powered experiences, open source initiatives, and internal tooling.

Deep mastery of JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and frameworks like React/Next.js.
Exceptional taste and creative judgment, with the ability to translate abstract ideas into bold, cohesive, and beautifully crafted experiences.
Bias toward action: able to make decisions, iterate quickly, and take calculated risks.
Exceptional attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
Based in Canada or the United States (SF preferred).
Nice to have
Technical SEO fundamentals.
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. Contentful, Sanity, etc.).
Experience configuring website analytics/marketing platform integrations such as with Google Analytics and HubSpot.
