Sample interview questions
How do you approach a new SaaS prospect from first outreach through closing?

I begin by researching the prospect's business model, current technology, and likely operational challenges. I use outreach to earn a discovery conversation, where I quantify pain points and desired outcomes before tailoring the demonstration. I confirm stakeholders, decision criteria, timeline, and commercial process early, then maintain clear next steps through proposal, negotiation, and close.

How would you demonstrate value to a hotel owner who is hesitant to change systems?

I would first understand the hotel's existing workflow, booking channels, revenue goals, and concerns about implementation. Rather than leading with features, I would connect the platform to practical outcomes such as simpler operations, broader distribution, and improved booking management. I would address transition risk with a clear onboarding plan and relevant customer examples.

Describe how you manage a high volume of sales activity while keeping CRM data accurate.

I time-block prospecting, follow-up, meetings, and CRM updates, and I record key details immediately after customer interactions. I use consistent opportunity stages, required fields, and next-step dates to keep the pipeline actionable. Clean CRM data helps me prioritize deals accurately and gives leadership reliable forecasting visibility.

Tell us about a time you handled a difficult commercial objection.

In a previous sales cycle, a prospect challenged the price because they were comparing a lower-cost alternative. I acknowledged the concern, returned to their operational priorities, and quantified the value of the capabilities they would lose with the cheaper option. By aligning the proposal to their success criteria and discussing a practical rollout plan, I helped move the conversation from price to long-term value.

How do you stay motivated when you receive rejection or miss a sales target?

I treat rejection as data rather than a personal setback. I review whether qualification, messaging, discovery, or follow-up can improve, ask for coaching where useful, and focus on the next controllable activity. Maintaining disciplined pipeline habits and celebrating progress keeps me resilient over time.
