Sample interview questions
How would you build an ABX strategy for a new priority healthcare market?

I would begin by aligning with Sales and BD on revenue goals, ideal customer profile, account tiers, buying committees, and market-specific barriers. I would combine seller insight, CRM data, intent data, and account research to define segment hypotheses and develop 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many plays. Each play would include messaging, channels, owners, milestones, and measurable account engagement and pipeline metrics.

Describe how you would use Demandbase or a similar platform to improve account engagement.

I would use account-level intent, engagement, website behavior, and fit data to identify in-market accounts and prioritize audiences. I would activate those segments through coordinated advertising, email, sales outreach, and event programs, then monitor account progression and engagement by buying group. I would routinely share actionable signals with sellers and refine audiences based on conversion results.

How do you ensure Sales, Business Development, and Marketing stay aligned on an ABM program?

I establish shared objectives, account lists, definitions of success, and clear responsibilities at the outset. I use concise campaign briefs and recurring operating reviews to communicate account insights, upcoming actions, seller feedback, and performance. Alignment improves when every team can see how its actions contribute to account progression and pipeline outcomes.

What metrics would you use to assess an ABX program?

I would measure leading indicators such as account reach, buying-group engagement, intent trends, content consumption, meeting creation, and sales follow-up. For business impact, I would track account progression, opportunities created, pipeline influenced or sourced, win rate, deal velocity, and revenue. Metrics should be segmented by account tier and channel so optimization decisions are specific and actionable.

Tell us about a time you improved an underperforming integrated campaign.

I would diagnose performance by reviewing audience quality, message resonance, channel engagement, seller follow-up, and conversion points rather than changing every element at once. Based on the findings, I would test a revised segment or value proposition, improve sales enablement, and reallocate effort toward channels producing meaningful engagement. I would document the result and convert successful changes into a repeatable playbook.

About League

League is one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Canada and the leading healthcare experience platform. Getting healthcare is often the easy part — finishing it is where things fall apart: people book the appointment and skip the follow-up, fill the prescription and stop taking it, get the referral and never make the call. That gap costs health plans and health systems money, and it costs people their health. League closes that gap — identifying what each person needs to do next, clearing what’s in their way, and getting it done, for the 70 million+ people whose care already runs through our platform. Health plans and health systems trust us to do this at scale. Organizations like Manulife, SCAN, Geisinger, and Medibank on the payer side, and Baptist and Shoppers Drug Mart on the provider side.

Position Summary:

As a Senior Account-Based Marketing Manager, you will lead Account-Based Experience (ABX) for League’s key priority market— driving engagement, pipeline, and revenue growth across our priority accounts in the region.

Reporting to the AVP, Account-Based Experience and Strategy, you’ll own ABX strategy and execution for your market. You’ll partner closely with our growth organization to deeply understand market needs and priority accounts, and translate those insights into account-based strategies and multi-touch ABX programs that engage and progress accounts across email, paid, direct mail, events, BD-led outreach, and more. You’ll build the playbook for how we go to market in the region.

This role blends strategic thinking, account and market insight, and operational excellence. You’ll align sales, business development, and marketing around shared goals, and ensure flawless execution from strategy through reporting.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the ABX strategy for your market — developing the approach across key account tiers (1:1, 1:few, 1:many), aligning internal teams, and orchestrating plays from strategy through execution.
  • Partner with Demand Gen, Content, Product Marketing, Sales, and BD teams to build integrated ABX motions that connect content, digital, direct mail, events, and sales outreach into cohesive account experiences.
  • Work with Sales and BD to identify target accounts, understand business priorities, and co-develop personalized engagement strategies.
  • Develop detailed ABX campaign briefs and plays that articulate strategic focus, audience insights, core messaging direction, key tactics, and success metrics.
  • Leverage Demandbase, seller input, and market insights to uncover engagement trends, buying signals, and account priorities — then share those insights with Sales and BD to coordinate how each function activates against your plays.
  • Collaborate with Demand Gen and Content teams to ensure copy, creative, and long-form content align with ABX briefs and reflect account or segment pain points, demonstrating how League solves them.
  • Work closely with Marketing Operations to ensure ABM tools, data, and integrations are optimized for performance, tracking, and reporting.
  • Monitor and measure ABX program performance, surfacing insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Present ABX plans, progress, and impact to Marketing and Sales leadership.
  • Contribute to the evolution of League’s ABX frameworks, playbooks, and best practices to scale success across the organization.

About you:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading and executing B2B account-based marketing strategies and integrated, cross-functional programs that drive measurable pipeline and revenue impact.
  • Strategic thinker with creativity, curiosity, and a data-driven mindset — paired with exceptional attention to detail in execution.
  • Able to connect the dots between product solutions, value proposition, and customer pain points — and translate that into briefs and strategies that resonate.
  • Learning mindset — excited to build something new, experiment, and continuously improve how ABX is executed based on results and insights.
  • Skilled in developing account research, insights, and segmentation strategies that inform targeted engagement.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator — able to influence stakeholders and present results clearly to leadership.
  • Highly organized project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Demandbase or similar ABM platforms — able to uncover account insights, activate intent signals, and use data to inform programs.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms and CRMs to deploy and report on ABX campaigns is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare market — and experience marketing into either the private or public sector — is a strong plus.

Security-Related Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Information Security Policies
  • Ensure access management is performed in compliance with the employee’s role and responsibilities
  • Responsibility and accountability for executing League’s policies and procedures within the department/ team
  • Notification of HR, Legal, Compliance & Security of any incidents, breaches or policy violations
