About this role.
Wpromote is seeking an Associate Director to lead Amazon DSP strategy, planning, and execution for a major portfolio account while providing senior support across additional retail media accounts. The role spans Amazon DSP, Sponsored Ads, AMC, and other retail media platforms including Walmart, Target, and Criteo. It requires 7+ years of digital media experience, deep programmatic expertise, and a record of managing complex or multi-brand accounts with substantial Amazon budgets. Sample interview questions
I would begin by aligning business goals, audiences, product priorities, and measurement requirements across each brand. I would map upper-, mid-, and lower-funnel tactics to appropriate Amazon DSP inventory, Amazon Ads formats, audience segments, and budget allocations, then establish a testing roadmap and reporting cadence. Ongoing optimization would use performance, incrementality, reach, frequency, and retail outcomes to rebalance investment.
I assess the campaign objective, audience quality, available inventory, pricing, transparency, scale, and brand-suitability needs. PMPs can be valuable when curated supply, premium publishers, or negotiated access materially improve outcomes, while OMP may offer stronger scale and efficiency for broader prospecting. I validate the decision through controlled tests and optimize using delivery, CPM, reach, frequency, conversion, and incremental performance signals.
I communicate early and directly, grounding the discussion in agreed KPIs and the relevant context rather than presenting results in isolation. I explain the diagnosis, such as audience saturation, inventory constraints, competitive changes, or product-detail-page issues, and provide a prioritized action plan with expected tradeoffs and timing. This approach maintains transparency while demonstrating ownership and a path to improvement.
In addition to ROAS, I would evaluate sales lift, new-to-brand rate, conversion rate, click-through rate, detail-page views, share of voice, reach, frequency, cost per acquisition, and product availability. For DSP, I would also consider audience penetration, viewability where applicable, path-to-purchase indicators, and incrementality. The final measurement framework should reflect whether the objective is awareness, acquisition, efficiency, or retail growth.
I would triage work based on business impact, deadlines, spend exposure, and client risk, then establish clear ownership and communicate timelines proactively. I use structured account reviews, documented optimization plans, and recurring performance checkpoints to ensure urgent requests do not displace core strategic work. When capacity or priorities conflict, I surface tradeoffs promptly and recommend the highest-value path forward.
